Can a $50 Thermalright FC-140 match it? Who knows? We'll probably never find out.

I know the cooler you speak of and ive done extensive research. Bottom line the answer is yes. The raw numbers will be very similar if not identical. But the AK620 will be better overall as it has an extra heatpipe and the theory behind it is it will carry heat away much quicker than 5 thicker heatpipes.

The Thermalright Peerless Assassin is still a much better buy IMO. Its a lot cheaper than the AK620 and should perform roughly the same with the main variable being the fans they ship with which may account for 1-2'c difference here and there.

The AK620 looks better cosmetically though.

There's a version of this for 50 without the LED crap. I'd say the few extra dollars is worth the better looks over the Peerless, but both are obviously great.

edit: looking at prices, it's currently 65. Well, it was 50 for a while. Not worth it for 65 unless you really care about looks.

Perhaps moving the middle fan to the back might solve the problem.
Probably will need to add a fan spacer.
The middle fan in the back can be beneficial.

If does not fix, the only solution is to replace the fans.

are this air cooler still good for taming the heat from i7 14700k, mainly for gaming PC, watch movies/listening music/browsing internet (not for cinebench, blender, etc) ??

The Phantom Spirit has supplanted the Peerless Assassin for the most part, but all of Thermalright's dual tower coolers are very good. Still hoping to see some pop up in reviews here.

I like minimalist approach to RGB and Info panel. Though I am worried about continuity of the software needed to maintain functionality.

The package comes with Tube thermal paste and Is it like Deepcool Z10 ? Do you know How much thermal conductivity is ?
For Arctic-MX6 = 10.5 W/mK , Deepcool Z10 =6.5 W/mK

Its the fans themselves that cause this noise, not the combination of fans and heatsink. See the single FK120 Video for that, the noise is exactly the same. From my experience the FC120 have the same issue (all three FC120 of my LS720 and one FC120 of my AK400 make a very simillar noise), but with the Assassin IV Deepcool finally might have found a way to get rid of that issue. If there is a new revision of the FK120 (and FC120) there might be a chance that they fixed this issue.

Phantom Spirit is $35, and it was matching or beating NHD15 and AK 620 as per Tom's hardware. FC 140 was a little better but it needed more noise to get there. $35. But hey why would TPUs readers want to know about that? Why not keep reviewing $100 coolers that don't do any better?

Great review as always! Thank you! I like the digital plate and the performance.
Can a $50 Thermalright FC-140 match it? Who knows? We'll probably never find out.
This is the question I wanted to ask too. Why did TPU stop reviewing TR products 5+ years ago? Even if they do not provide review samples, TR coolers are so competitively priced, you can just pick one up for less than 50 bucks. Is there any beef in the background that we are not aware of? TPU posts so many TR news announcements so I do not think that's the case. It so hard to find big box TR reviews out there these days. And I could by lack of marketing excuse 3-4 years ago when you couldn't find any of their products, but these they are so widely available. Even if their PR team sucks,, they are easy to pick up off the shelf to review.

Again thanks for the great review.

I have already an AK620 and it`s excellent!
If I will change the AIO from my second PC I will definitely transfer that one to it and getting this one for my main; It looks good!
