Hi ladies and gents,

I have ran into an issue while attempting to install an MSI Mag coreliquid 360R V2 onto my Ryzen 7800x3D rig and I am unable to clip the mount to the board since it's simply a bit too big.

I was using a Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 4 cooper from my old AM4 build right onto this AM5 build without an issue but now I'm wondering if I need a different AIO mounting bracket that connects to the mobo backplate?

I have never built an AIO rig so I wasn't expecting this to happen.

I don't have my old motherboard box or Be Quiet box so.. I'm going to assume that I will have to buy a replacement part?

Please let me know what I need to make this work and where am I to even find one?! Assuming Amazon sells what I need?

Thank you.

Everything you need should be in the box for the AIO. Of course if you bought that AIO before the launch of AM5 you may need to contact MSI for a new bracket.

Most CPU cooler manufacturers will provide the necessary adaptor for newer CPU sockets free of charge.

Contact the MSI support desk for your region to get them to send one to you. They will have the answer for you. It's not like you're their first customer with an AM5 motherboard.

Best of luck.

I only just bought this AIO a week ago from paradigit. I usually buy my pc goods from there for the past 15 years! Never had an issue with them anyway.

But yeah, the AM5 AIO mounting bracket is clearly not here. If I had kept my old motherboard box... I would have been able to use the original bracket which would work since it had that clip on part.. such a pity.

But yeah, I am going to get onto them right now to provide one for me since they do say it's AM5 supported right out of the box which appears to be completely untrue now..

I am just going to buy a replacement from Amazon now as it'll be here by Saturday.. rather get this over and done with asap!

Thank you for your help guys!

Good luck and make sure you join the AMD 7000 CPUs thread to post your experience.

AM4 and AM5 use the same C-bracket on that model.

In my experience, they can "seem" too big for the plastic tabs from the default motherboard socket hardware.
If you set the head unit on the CPU, and then with a finger then thumb, squeeze the latches over the tabs and start to tighten, it should grab. The hardware does angle on many models.

Hope that helps, unless you do no have that C-bracket.

Normally you would be correct but in this case I am not using the correct brackets that came with the motherboard by default. I am using what came with my cooler.

I am 100% correct with this as my brother also bought one of these and he started putting his together earlier today.. turns out he kept the original brackets and it clips on perfectly! He tried with the exact same brackets as me as he also had the same air cooler and he wasn't able to clip them on either.

I bought a replacement on Amazon and it'll arrive on Saturday so it could be worse I suppose.

Although I suppose I shouldn't be saying that until I do get the brackets and everything works out well and I don't end up with the dreaded.. push the power button and nothing happens!
