Seems decent. Worth the price increase over the 7800XT at MSRP in my opinion but choice will depend on actual prices.

Agreed with others that say this is what the 4070 should have been to start with.

Thanks for another great review. It seems that the limited power budget prevents this from coming closer to the 4070 Ti. This is the best option for those who prefer dual slot cards. This is going to put pressure on both the 7800XT and the 7900XT. The latter, especially, doesn't make sense above USD 700.

Nope, exact same connector and adapter cable, which has been used successfully millions of times
Okay, cool. As mentioned, I am not one of the worried about the connector or the adapter, just was curious whether or not the updated standard already started being adopted or not. Guess NV will go for the 2x6 with Blackwell.
Oh, the adapter is from the double 8-pin, right?

What do you mean? The connector had some revision implemented which shortened the sensing pins, making it harder for stupid people to not plug the plug properly. It has already been implemented on possibly all currently made cards.

Nvidia can F*** themselves after shafting everybody with the non-super cards.
Well I agree with that, should 4070 Ti Super with 16 GB of memory be available when I was buying the card, I would have bought it instead of the ordinary 12 GB 4070. Now I have a 4070, and I will probably loose at least $150 selling it. Realistically $200. That is a loss for me because Nvidia had stupid and incomplete product lineup. The guy in leather jacket needs to pay me $200. I am serious.

Looks like a decent card if you can't afford anything better.

Not sure why we are seeing the complaints. It's better in every way to the 4070 for the same price.

A great gpu for 2560x1440 resolution, I’ve mentioned before the $599 price I believe is fair for todays price but not amazing. The perf is on par with the 3090 which I paid 3x the price… back in 2020 thanks scalpers

They should rename it to RTX 4070 Decent Founders Edition then.

They should just bump the entire product line back down to match what they actually are.

Realistically this should have been a 4060 due to the cut-down die and 192-bit bus but they knew they could milk few hundred dollars out of us suckers.

Source: I bought what would should have been a 4070 for $1300 USD.

Looks like a great card, for 1080p gaming. For higher resolutions the 12GB RAM might not cut it in some games.

Also ASUS again is taking the "noise" cake, up to 10dBA more silent than the FE (or 14dBA than the worst, Gainward). Imressive!
RTX 4070 Super FE vs. ASUS TUF.png

For the info: 10dBA more equals to doubling in noise.

That is what the 4070 should have been from the start
That's what the 4070 would have been before they rebadged a 4060 to compensate the Covid tax. :) Waiting paid off.

Curious as to why Forza Horizon 5 was removed from the tested games list? It was nice having a couple racing games there to compare.

Keyboard Logitech MX Keys (not Cherry MX at all)
VR HMD Samsung Oddyssey, not that I'd plug it into this though....
Software W10 21H1, barely
Benchmark Scores I once clocked a Celeron-300A to 564MHz on an Abit BE6 and it scored over 9000.
It's a good match for the 7800XT in terms of performance/$, with the advantage of faster RT performance and the disadvantage of 12GB being barely acceptable for a $600 GPU still.

What this does highlight for sure is that the vanilla 4070 needs to come down in price more. $499 would be a more reasonable price for it.

Look up mindfactory GPU sales data. 4070 is usually in the first three positions.
A single retailer in Germany is not an accurate representation of GPU sales in the European- let alone global sales market.
