Hy guys!
I would like to switch the bus from x8 to x16.
If the graphics card is physically installed in an x16 slot on the motherboard, but the system recognizes it as x8,.
My pc: amd ryzen 7 5800x3D
motherboard:ASUS B550 PRIME PLUS
Videocard: GeForce RTX™ 4060 EAGLE OC 8G

Thank you

No. Get another card that features full x16 mode.

To add to the above: Note that this card probably wouldn't get any real benefit from having an x16 link anyways, x8 at 4.0 speeds should be plenty of bandwidth. No need to worry there.

(one thing that I would recommend would be to hit the question mark icon next to the Bus Interface field, to see if it scales up to 4.0 under load -- if it's actually stuck at 2.0 that would be an issue)

add more as this site seems to always do with newest cards and test pci-express scaling using a 4090 it only lost 3% going from pcie 4.0 16x to 8x. That is a card that is far more stressful on pcie then a 4060 could dream to be.

It won't matter, PCIe 4.0 x8 has the same bandwidth as PCIe 3.0 x16, you will get full GPU performance at x8 :)

AMD did this on several cards as well.

That 4060 does not need x16 lanes of pcie 4.0. I have a RX6900XT on an old x470 board running on pcie 3.0 and I get full performance out of it.

The physical limit of your card is x8. As such you will see no performance loss. Pcie 4x16, however is much faster (in theory) than x8.

You will get zero benefit from going to 16x gen 4 with a RTX 4060. No extra fps... Nothing
