Memory PC GmbH has unveiled an exclusive reskin of Sapphire Technology's standard PULSE RX 7800 XT graphics card—the German e-tailer is advertising this special edition model as a "world first," with a design that is both "unique and eye-catching." We reckon that there is some marketing spiel + exaggeration in effect here, although Memory PC's branding, messaging and extra swathes of red and white do add up to be a more visually appealing package. Sapphire's PULSE card designs tend to focus on function rather than fancy livery—the normal PULSE RX 7800 XT card is almost entirely black, save for some red line accents on its shroud and backplate, plus white text on the twin cooling fans.

This special model sports white PULSE fans with abbreviated Memory PC logo branding, while the shroud has red and white stealth-effect polygonal patterning. This effect adorns almost the entire stretch of backplate, a pixellated heart graphic and a "WE LOVE GAMING" statement sit within an island of black. The Memory PC + Sapphire Technology Navi 32 XT GPU collaboration is only available in pre-built PC systems—starting at €999, with an AMD Ryzen 7 5700X build.

I like how colorful it is, but the 'we love gaming' on the backplate is a bit of a dealbreaker (besides the fact that I already have the hellhound version)

The best thing about the Pulse is that it's a quiet, base price price card - and when I say quiet I mean both in terms of fan noise and visual design flair.

As long as they're not actually charging more for this design, and it only comes in their prebuilts that presumably have matching colourways throughout the case and lighting, then fine - I guess.

I don't know why gaming hardware companies are obsessed with doing this. It always looks so terrible and ruins the aesthetics of the hardware. Like the Aorus "Team up. Fight on" - it just sounds so dumb!

is that a display or a sticker?. (can not tell, the font and pixelated heart suggests display… but could also be a sticker) and the whole system starts at 1000 pounds.

On the front it looks like a thicker sticker. :) On the back it's most likely some type of laminate.

The looks is not that bad. But why not Nitro+? It seems to be very dump to capitalize on anemic weaker card class. With all respect, there's nothing special in Pulse version. It's limited cooling and features wise, and the price is less. It seems it's much more reasonable to make special edition based on cream of the crop. But... whatever.
Luckily its target audience is "reiche und dumme deutsche Jugend". :D

For me, the best shroud and overall look was Polaris RX580/590 Nitro+ SE. Simple, and nice looking. It also had custom plates and shouds (red and blue).

...if you are guaranteed to get more sales for that. Yet they aren't. Prebuilt systems are made for people who don't know much about PCs or don't really care, either way they won't suspect this to be a butchered Pulse. They won't pay hundreds more just because you made your GPU cooler and 1 FPS faster. That's why despite this design being extensively goofy this whole marketing campaign looks legit.

AM4 also fits it pretty much since RDNA3 isn't actually next-gen, it's rather RDNA2 on steroids xD

Most hideous so far. Still plenty of time for a 7600XT that's 5 slots and rainbow puke.

The whole PC is only $999 - this isn't a build where there's an extra $50 for a factory overclocked card.

The 7800XT is fine for most people. Based on the Steam hardware survey, something like 99% of gamers have an inferior GPU and it'll delivery a high-refresh/max-settings experience in AAA titles at 1440p. Not everyone needs a 4090 to enjoy gaming.

Than this is still somewhat misleading. This is advertising the "ordinary", or "not much better than reference" card as something special. Unless they are clear and do not charge "special" tax for it, and position this card as "non OC.
BTW, 7800XT Nitro+ seems to be insta- sold out in EU, just soon after release.

I understand, that my English may be not very understandable. But heck... where did I mention 4090. I've written about that being Pulse, not Nitro+. And that Pulse is a weaker variant. And of course 7800XT is a fine card. It would completely cover all my requirements, and personally don't even need anything more powerful.

Than this is complete scam. This is advertising the "ordinary", or "not much better than reference" card as something special. This is still profiting from the ignorant. Unless they do not charge special for it, and position this card as "non OC. Still not my business, as I'm not the target audience.
My German ain't the bee's knees but from my understanding, they stated none of "this GPU is leagues better than other 7800 XTs," they only directly boasted its design (100% legit) and RDNA3 features (also legit).

This is an approximate minimum build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bh37ZJ.

Even in the US, it costs $1000 + VAT. This is one VAT more than this German retailer are asking for.

It's more that the Pulse is a $500 card in a $1000 system, so there's a $500 budget for the case & fans, PSU, motherboard, RAM, CPU, cooler, and warranty which really isn't very much. I'm GUESSING that the $999 build is an i3 or Ryzen 5500 with 16GB DDR4, a budget 500GB SSD and low-end PSU.

The Nitro is a $580 card, which means you've just taken $80 out of the already very very tight budget for everything else.

Realistically, the Nitro is 1-2% faster than the Pulse, for a 16% cost increase. Giving up $80 to squeeze in the Nitro instead of the Pulse probably means you're giving up two CPU cores and 500MHz of clockspeed, losing half the RAM and half the storage, then swapping the good PSU for a cheap PSU. It is the falsest of false economies to buy cosmetic luxuries when you can't even fit the essential basics into the budget - because a Nitro would need to be paired with a cheap quad-core, 8GB RAM, a 256GB SSD which would make it a worse, slower PC in every way.

I made the comment about a 4090 because if you're calling a 7800XT weak and anaemic, you clearly think that a 1440p high-refresh, ultra-settings experience is no good. No, the 7800XT isn't the fastest card on the market, but it's fast enough for an overwhelming majority of gamer.

The points are valid, lads. I'm not arguing, and have nothing against this. In the context of entire PC thing, it's completely viable. I've just expressed my confusion, about "pulse" being special. It's just SI PC theme sticker. But yeah, well pointed.
