Those are nice temps to be gaming for sure , but at mine if fan were on quiet mode , cpu temperature at idle was around 70 .

Let me all know if I understood correctly , right temperatures will be for idle between 30-40 degrees , right? I need to confirm that to the guy at the store because obviously someone is going to say that having 65-70c is a good temperature for my CPU there

UPDATE: the pc shop technician were i buy the cooler and all that told me that he will be out until next friday , so , i will give it one more try tomorrow . Im going to remove all the components and put them back again , see if that's fix my issue . Thanks

Another question that i have , is totally necessary to re apply the thermal paste each time i remove the power block ? i runed out of thermal paste in just 3 days

Please try to use EDIT instead of 3 posts one after another.

Yes, at idle you want to be below 40c with slow fan and pump speed.

If you have not enough thermal paste, or perhaps it's drying or dried out from being exposed to the atmosphere multiple times, I would get a new tube of thermal paste.

Make sure the paste is 8w/mk or higher.

Unfortunately i cant answering you no more because i already put the pc on a box , later today i will take it to the pc shop where i buy most of my stuff and see what they tell me .
That seems to be the best thing to do after all you tried. Just dont let them convince you that it has to run that hot at idle. I had those idle temps with the stock cooler on my 7700 in the summertime.

Return the watercooler, it is probably defective.
It could be a mounting issue though as OP after several attempts of re-mounting he dropped about 20C, from 70s to 50s.
Still far from ideal.... Needs another 10-15C down.

What baffled me is that he claimed he had the same temp (70s) at idling and gaming.
I asked a few questions about operating conditions during both cases but I was late as he send it for check.

Hydronaut achieves best results if used on medium- to large-scale cooling solutions. This product is ROHS-compliant for demanding users.

Not sure what medium to large scale cooling solutions stand for, but I would try some other cheaper paste.

This. If the pump was bad, temps would cross 95c in a seconds. The mounting leading to a 20c drop, can't get more obvious than that but nope, it could not no way be bad mounting.

I acquired a new one , this time Artic mx-4 , i know isnt ideal but its a good thermal paste either way.Thank you!

I just buy an Artic mx-4 , i will see how everything goes with that one , i will do the old one tiny drop like always .Thanks!
Return the watercooler, it is probably defective.
I will if after installing it once more it fails , i will also try sitting my old cooler at the cpu and see what temps i got there.Thank you!

I didnt send it yet and i will give it one more try , because the technician from the shop i buy all these things is on vacation until next Friday , so i prefer to try one more time instead of sending my pc to be one week stored somewhere.Thank you!

It could be really a bad mounting yes but i dont know , my previous corsair h110i used the same mounting system and i removed that one plenty of times for changing the thermal paste and 0 problems with that one. I agree also on the gaming and idling temps , thats pretty weird because i imagine temps going a lot higher but no. I will answer your questions once i re installed the cooler. Thank you!

I understand as I have the H110i for like 6.5+ years now and still using it. I mount it like 10~15 times already on 2 completely different systems and 3 different CPUs and never had any issues.

So H150i has exactly the same mounting mechanism?

I never used a screwdriver to tight this, only by hand.
I just need to remove GPU to make room for my hand for the bottom retainer.
And while tighting it I work little by little both sides, maybe half or less of a turn each time.

Yes , the same . The only difference is that it has a controller for the rgb fans . The controller has a 12v connector that's the one that gives power to the pump and to the fanes , that controllers goes to a sata port and thats all but after that the mounting part is the same. I tried yesterday that thing with unscrewing half turn after screws cannot be more tight, didnt work for me , using that technique temps were above 90c lol

Paste seems alright. In the pic, double sided mounting screws dont look fully screwed to the back plate. Could be normal for that AIO but check anyway. I believe they should go all the way in too.

I think the thermal paste was right applied or maybe to much , i leave some pictures
1706130207066.png

Is it properly mounted? I see threads on the right side, although maybe it's just because of the angle. Or maybe it just came loose when you removed it?
Paste looks thicker on the right side as well, I dunno.. look at the R in Ryzen, that's how it should look all over.

Is it properly mounted? I see threads on the right side, although maybe it's just because of the angle. Or maybe it just came loose when you removed it?
Paste looks thicker on the right side as well, I dunno.. look at the R in Ryzen, that's how it should look all over.
At my third try i note that and it was like a relief and I thought that was the problem, but didnt fix anything unfortunately. Im on my way to re install it now , also i will change the psu cables from a cable mod to the original , so it will take me some time. Keep you guys posted

If you have any other cooler on hand slap it on there and hold pressure with your hand only if you have no other means. You should see the difference quickly. I agree those studs look to be backed off which would kill the pressure available. You know you can easily put the factory AMD retention brackets back on, right?

With bracket retention you mean the one that goes at the back of the matherboard ?That was already attached to my mobo ( asus b650e-f) , im going to try to re install one more time , if that doesnt work i will use my old h110i and apply presure like you said

As I saw more carefully your screenshot its not the same mount as AM4, At least what Im using. Mine tightens on 2 points and AM5 on 4 corners so ignore what I said earlier.
I dont have experience with this kind of mount.

What you need is a ordinary air cooler to test with...almost anything will do.

More than enough paste...no need to spread it out.

Yeah this is how I use it on AM4 and works great.
30s idle and avg 65-66C on 130~140W.
Gaming at 95-105W hits 75+ on peaks and 59-61C the average.
