Which stepping though? There's two on that IHS. Weird stuff.Stepping shows it as a Pentium 4 HT 550

Why exactly? Haswell runs memory way faster and has a slightly newer architecture, and PCIE 3.0.WestmereEP is a much better option.
Oops, you're right. I must have been thinking of something else.. @Mr.Scott Sorry about that. Why exactly? Haswell runs memory way faster and has a slightly newer architecture, and PCIE 3.0.

And there is more on the way....
Quickly reinstalled XP on the new drive for the dual Coppermine , and got 3dMark01 and 03 running. I did aim for Catalyst 6.2 based Omega drivers though, and I think it's better that I went for the older drivers - 3dMark01 showed quite a bump in score.

I was kinda expecting the low score on 3dMark03 - the CPU tests absolutely ran the P3s into the ground.
I need to compare this with my OC-ed Tualatin 1400 that runs over 1600MHz with 6600GT.
I also have an ATI 9800 (dont know the exact model) And i think its in the Pentium 4 HT 3.06GHz machine.

I've had the Force 3D one for around 15 years (I don't remember exactly), haven't had any problems other than needing to re-grease all the moving parts because of age. TBF I don't use it very often.Logitech Wingman Extreme Digital 3D:

I just saw this abit IP35-E Off Limits Motherboard I have no idea if this item is complete or whether it works - it has been used & has been dry stored at least 7 years. It comes in it's original box with various leaflets it is £17,50 worth taking a punt on it?And should i go for ABIT motherboards do you recomend them.?The box looks in good nickand so does the board.Saw an Abit IN9-32X MAX SLI with OCZ CAS4 DDR2 go for an absolute steal on ebay. Would have been tempting but I just don't need another board. Before that, I saw an IX38 QuadGT also go cheap.
Why?

Thats what i thought .I sent an email to the seller asking if comes with the i.o Shield it does not look like it does though.Heres a video by one of our fav youtubersLooks like a nice board. I'm the original owner of my own IP35 Pro and it's still bombproof.
Abits were generally regarded as good overclockers and well made, but like most manufacturers they also had ups and downs.

Did you see any bad caps on there? This is the guys reply about the i/o shieldSuch a great board!!
Nope! Looks good. That board was made after the capacitor plague time-frame.Did you see any bad caps on there?
For that board, don't worry about the IOShield. It is not required for PC operations. It's mostly a cosmetic thing. I'd go for it! Slap a Core2Quad in it and you'll have a great foundation for a retro XP system! This is the guys reply about the i/o shield
Thanks for your interest in this item.
Quote. from the seller
*I know virtually nothing about computers so cannot say if it has a i.o. shield ( not even sure what one is!!) - so I think you are probably best to assume it doesn't!
Sorry I can't be more helpful*
Yes i don,t think it does. And the ones on ebay don,t seem to be for the same modal .They seem to be from the NeverlandsIf you say there are no caps going i will give it a punt.I read a ggod review of it on a retro site.
