Well then what are we talking about now, again, I say the story is bad, that you see the conclusion, the big reveal from a mile away and the whole multiple worlds thing is SUCH a turn off, how can it not be, it means NON of it matters, it might as well ended with a "it was just a dream"...would you have still enjoyed it then? and if so...why?

and what could you have possible been brainstorming about, the stuff that wasnt actually explained perhaps? which would be a waste of time because the writers apparently never figured it out anyway....
Its like how Mass Effect's writing team was fired between every entry and thus the end of it all is a convoluted mess of nonsense....

But I dont understand this reaction when you previous reaction to me pointing out the problems was:
"When I game I'm not trying to make sense of anything and I just let myself be the part of the game's world/fiction"

so when you game you dont care about the story at all, you dont try to make sense of it, you just let it happen....but then when its over you suddenly do? and then you dont care enough that its just awful that you still enjoy the game?

I dont combine these mindsets, either you care and somehow do not think its dogsh!t which I cannot combine with 35 years on this planet with all the media you (could have) consumed already....OR you dont care but then why would you be thinking about it later.....

I mean seriously, if you play any kinda weird game that tries to create this mystery and the answer to the mystery is "time travel, clones, aliens, multiple worlds or it was all a dream" it just sucks to start with, its so basic, so done to death and such a weak and easy answer....

Bioshock and System shock actually had some decent writing, heck you could say that Bioshock kinda pulled the same twist but just done much better and much more grounded, "would you kindly" was a legendary reveal.

whatever, rantings of an old man who has to come to terms with the fact that they are no longer the target audience because "writers" take the easy path and appeal to 12 year olds who dont know any better rather then putting in some effort.

My wording was probably off 'I was having my diet cheat/off day last night so ye..' but what I mean in genereal is that when I play a game and enjoy it then I don't try to take apart and nitpick the story like trying to find loopholes and whatnot.
That is not enjoyable for me and not why I game, well I play different genres for different reasons too. 'same as how I can enjoy a simple eye candy movie like Pacific Rim/all of the Marvel, etc movies but I can also enjoy a good life drama/serious type of a movie every now and then'

After I've finished all of the Bioshock games and Infinite I've actually looked up/read some theories about the ending and how its all connected and that I did find interesting afterwards but while playing the game it did not bother me at all and just enjoyed the ride/world they built.

Mass Effect I've finished the trilogy 3 times and while I'm not a big fan of the ending either it still doesn't take away from the rest of the game and its rich lore filled world that I love. That is a game that can still make me emotional by the end of it and apparently I'm not alone with that.:) 'For what its worth I even enjoyed Andromeda as a side game in the ME universe'

So ye its how it works for me, maybe I'm just a simpleton but thats how I can still enjoy new games till this day and I don't really share the games are all getting crap nowadays narrative. 'bad/uninteresting games always existed anyway, there are plenty of games that I would never play but theres more than enough for a neverending backlog of games'
Actually I'm playing Far Cry 6 as my side game in the past few weeks and you could ask why I even bother when its all the samey FC game like the rest, but hey its still a good fun stuff to play imo and I have fun with it.

Sometimes, you don't have to look for loopholes... sometimes, loopholes just find you and stare you in the face. That's how you know that the writing is bad. That's why I don't watch Marvel. Pretty CGI with mediocre acting and absolutely garbage writing is material for the 10 year-old brain at most - no offense. :ohwell:

I agree with you there. The ending of ME3 is absolutely rubbish, a child would have written something better - but it doesn't take away from the value of the trilogy.

ME: Andromeda was okay, it's worth a single playthrough, but the character (or rather, NPC, because I wouldn't class them as "characters", having no character whatsoever) dialogues were pure cringe. A good idea tarnished by childish writing. As I was roaming on to the next jaw-dropping mystery or eerie space anomaly, I kept thinking "would you, Character X just SHUT THE F* UP?" If I had the chance to jettison the whole crew and replace them with faceless planks of wood, I would have done so without a second thought. The same thing that kept the ME trilogy so interesting (the crew) was Andromeda's failure. Shame.

Its okay, none taken and I can see where you are coming from with that. :)
I guess for me entertainment is just that.

Yea the characters were definitely worse in Andromeda than in the trilogy, can't say that I've really developed any real care/emotion to any of them unlike to some in the the trilogy.
I pretty much looked at the game as a cool sci-fi game that happened to be in the ME universe.
Kinda curious to see how the new ME game will turn out cause I'm gonna pick that up no matter what.

Yeah this is 100% Bioshock *IN SPACE* (Sorry Prey 2017) which is alright.

Levine clearly has found his niche, if he can make money on it then more power to him.
PREY 2017 was amazing but somewhat lonely.
BioShock Infinite was spectacular.

Oh, Ken Levine, the paragon of originality. It's genuinely remarkable how each of his games offers a fresh, never-before-seen experience that happens to closely resemble everything else he's ever made. And 'Judas' art style? It is a bold departure from 'Bioshock,' if by departure you mean virtually identical.
