US keyboard languages shows even not installed

I am seeking some help here with Windows 11 Pro, I had this issue even on Windows 10 Pro and I thought it was fixed by deleting the entry 00000409 in the registery editor since this OS was made with English United Kingdom only the entry is not in the registry:

My language bar looks like this:

When I look around in Windows 11 Pro under Language & Region, keyboards, advanced keyboard settings I cannot find any English (United States) so where is Windows finding this entry?

Do anyone have an idea how I can get rid of "English (United States)" because using Win+Space it going through all 3 languages and I only want 2

It looks like MS haven't fixed this bug, because I run the same iso installation on my Lenovo ThinkPad T480 and Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q Tiny with the only keyboard language English (United Kingdom) and I do not have this bug.

They haven't attempted lol.

My workaround is to add the language you wanna get rid of and then to delete it.

Same reason why I learned with time like everyone else when cleaning out in Task Scheduler never to delete anything just disable because MS only check if the entry is there not the state at least for now

Windows is a mess with keyboards, I did fix this many moons ago but I really can't tell you what fixed it, you are better off doing some dark magic to fix it.
All I know is was convoluted, all the info on goodle is utterly useless and it didn't work right away, just after a couple of restarts.
This clusterfuck happens when you install english OS and want to use another language as keyboard layout.
This happens since forever, and microsfot actually made it worse on windows 11.

Do you know if this is even possible ? I bet this is the default for a lot of things inside windows, it would probably break a lot of things if you could remove it so this might be on purpose.

On windows 10 I can confirms it 100% works whatever I did. Been months and many cumulative updates since and the issue hasnt come back.

The thing is, windows always wants the english layout if the OS language is english, I woudnt mind having multiple layouts but the annoying thing, windows key + space swaps the layouts even if you disable all the other shortcuts, you cannot disable this shortut no matter what, unless you have powertoys running all the time, found myself many times trying to type just to find out the layout was changed because I most likely changed it by accident when gaming or whatever.

I've had this issue too and from as well and sometimes it can be fixed, sometimes not.
The worst thing is that if you use the same M$ account on two computers and sync your settings, but have different keyboards on the two, you get the keyboard layout settings synced on both of them...

I never hit the windows key doing gaming never really been an issue my biggest issue is hitting CTRL on Lenovo/IBM laptop keyboards because FN is left of CTRL not the other way around but I won't change this because than I will be f**** one day when I use another laptop than my own

I only do local accounts on my machine never been a MS account fan for Windows also one of the reasons I have only purchased Windows not Office or something else, I use OnlyOffice instead of MS Office, I use Mozilla Thunderbird instead of Outlook and I use Floorp instead of Microsoft Edge.

I'm still on an old Windows 7 retail license on my desktop, so to be able to upgrade to Windows 10, I had to register the product key with M$... And on my past two laptops, I haven't had an option not to do it so...
But yeah, it causes some "fun" issues at times.

I use a Windows 8 that is upgraded first to 10 and now 11 works like a claim last time I had a issue MS wanted me to bind my license to a MS account I was mad and said screw it, just got around it another way because I do not want a MS account on my machines.

I read that this issue is caused by a misconfiguration in Windows so I guess MS doesn't care since their native is US not anything else.

It can be triggered by a waiting update or something else, and I checked today after closing Half-Life: Alyx and sure ENG US was there then I checked windows update sure there was a update that needed a reboot after the reboot ENG US was gone and I am like what the heck MS

It's just really annoying that Windows 10 and 11 still have this issue even when the OS I have installed is built on the UK version not the US.

Not sure if my XP on my retro gamer pc has this bug since I just installed the English version and didn't check I also experienced this in Windows 7 so I don't get why MS doesn't work hard on fixing this since a ton of people even on their own community reports this issue and no MS engineer or support really comments on this issue only some partners do but it doesn't have a solution to the problem.

I just upgraded my MOBO bios(ofc shitsus) with a warning that it will break bitlocker..., I don't use that crap, so whatsoever, but it also changed HW id, my windows activation was shot and it was also an old 7 key I've upgraded to 10 then 11. Microsoft now does not accept older OS keys for w11 recently...

So thank you ASUS for you shitshow as usual. Be careful with old keys. Mine was also tied to account, it just become intransferable... yes it is there, but you cannot do anything with it, like change HW option and ask support. I had to update BIOS because I ran into some other ASUS BIOS quirks that require a wipe, they usually ran out of memory and using EZ flash actually does not mean you write BIOS regions from HEX adress to HEX in the flash... nope... EC firmware hub does too much things on their own... wrong things. The issue was as long I entered BIOS without any changes went out my OC was reset and board training values went cuckoo, I had to cold boot it. Magically with all those same settings on a fresh BIOS flash everything works.

I just had WU that added an addional Latvian keyboard too... I scratched my head about it for a while and deleted it. Last updates from Redmond are so even more buggy than using Win Insider canaries.

MS made news last year with old Windows 7 keys and the upgrade path.

Regarding reactivation MS now forces with the 23H2 update to sign in to a MS account for reactivation I experienced this and I really sour because I purchased my OS and upgraded it I do not want a online account with more services and junk running and I am not a linux user but I just fixed it give MS the middle finger.

Whats funny is usually us guys outside of america have the problem of the US keyboard being shoved in our faces.

The US keyboard is installed on that system, but if you want the full US english language, add it in the settings. It will be downloaded and installed. (this should not be required if you only want the keyboard)

My issue is the US keyboard is no where to be found even in regedit where it should be it's not there.

People have complained about this for years, and it doesn't seem to be on MS' todo list to fix.

Yes but if you look at

English (United States) ain't installed only United Kingdom and there is a big different in the key layout.
