Very good card, I flashes it with BIOS from ASUS TUF to unlock 115% power limit. Managed to do +200/+2000/+15 stable. For benchmarks I was able to push core to +240. (3120 effective clock) and get 23000 TimeSpy, which is more than RTX 4070 Ti.

Hi, I already want to buy Asus dual, but also consider Gigabyte G1 Gaming - is it worth to pay 50$ more for Gigabyte? won't that be like overkill for 4070 super card?

My current card is gtx 970 Gigabyte G1 Gaming - used it for like 8 years now and there were no problems with it.

It depends on what you expect to get for those extra $50. If it's straight up performance, probably not. If it's less noise or possibly more OC headroom... maybe.

stay away from gigabyte when it comes to the 4070 super. they only strapped the cooler from the 4070 on it and called it a day. if you like 18000rpm and still be over 70 celsius go for it. its not quiet either.

There's ~20W between the plain 4070 and the Super, why would you need a new cooler for that?
As for it being loud... maybe, that model doesn't seem to have got many reviews, so I couldn't say.

oddly people think everything needs a different cooler it can't be same even within. A good gpu cooler can be used for 4-5 diff cards. hell 4070super could have same board as 4070 as its same gpu with a small 20watt draw increase. as for over 70c. All the reviews have gpu in an open air test bench so even if they show 65c likely hood same load in your pc will be 70+.

You forget a lot of 4070 super have 240 watt powerlimit, only with that you can get close to a 4070ti. And the gb cards wee alredy not that quiet on the 4070 so you can imagine the helicopter on the 4070 super. their 80mm fans are a joke alway 1800-22000rpm thats insane even an undervolted 4070 still had 1400-1700rpm.

I dont say this often but for a 4070 super its wise to buy a bgetter card than a (any)dual or gigabyte one. the palit dual and ghost are hitting 80 celsius because they simply are not made for this power requirement they have a coller of a 60 card on it lol if you see it inj person you know why every penny was saved by building that garbage yet its still 500-600ish just because its an nvidia chip but the coolers are absolute cheap garbage.

but hey you can try it. 20 watts are 10% more. if your cooler already was loud with 90% imagine 130% and yes the super cards need that power they are extremely powerlimited. the 4080 super isnt since its the almost exact same card as the 4080

Like said above, if you want a better cooler and lower noise while gaming that Gigabyte might do it. The Asus has a plus for having dual BIOS. Your choice.

This. Also, they rarely mention the ambient temp. and when they do it's in the region of 20ºC, most of the year i have way higher ambient temp. in my room. Right now it's about 25ºC and in the summer it gets above 30º with the A/C off. So, you can add at least 5-10º more to the card temp. in real life.

Also after some research about Gigabyte G1 gaming (looking at 4070 or 4070ti) as mentioned in previous comments it would be a bit loud
Problem appears that I do not use headphones (I can't use them) so i probably need the quieter ones - current Gigabyte one is a bit loud while I play for example Warframe at 100% usage = 2100rpm- 67º
I still prefer Asus Tuf but paying +140$ in my country that's quite a lot.

Generally after searching for the last week I mainly focused on Asus dual, Gigabyte G1 Gaming and Zotac trinity (lower price than Gigabyte). I also noticed that some have a longer warranty (4y gigabyte, 5y zotac)

Mb when I make my own fan profile Gigabyte would also be quiet while keeping temperatures

We are talking specific models here, the difference is always ~20W (i.e. less than 10%). No new cooler required.

First hand experience i wouldnt say it if it wouldnt be true. BUT im used to almost silent like cards and sound is objective but my eagle 4070 was not quiet stock like at all. with oc you were over 70 celsius with only 200 watts and almost 2000 rpm. but my 380 watts rx 7900xt with oc is as loud as the eagle at 1700rpm the difference is almost double the power usage still not really loud.

windforce has 1 heatpipe less than the eagle and no dual bios. but all in all all 3 cards are almost the same. gigabytes appproach is 3 fans 80-85mm the smaller the fan the more rpm is need logical.

kfa tripple slot is a relatively good one big coolers low rpm but a strange sound from the cooler itsself, like all palit/gainward cards at 1100-1200rpm it has a weird sound dunno how these partners cant get it right with over 20 years experience must be on purpose so you buy the expensive models.

That can be caused by not applying the thermal paste correctly. Or an overly aggressive fan curve. It doesn't mean the cooler is not up to the task.

I personally think that those cards were mishandled or the hole PC was transported without removing the GPU or securing it. I highly doubt gravitation alone cracks PCB's.

You can undervolt it, loose a few degrees and lower the noise, To me anything below 1500 rpm is silent. But it depends on an individual ears.

See the temps i am getting with a 4070 Asus Dual above.

Can't you return the card in your country within 14 days and get your money back ? Pick a card, buy it and see if you can handle the noise it makes.

if you lower it you reach 85 celsius easily. hot spot 105 then.

Still within limits. But like I said, in order to be able to blame the cooler, you have to replace the thermal paste first (and not botch the reapplying).

the cooler is smaller then the reg so yea generally means it won't run as cool. Its little narrower but a bit shorter card.
