If you are seeing duplicate frames (I don't know if you really do because it's difficult to tell) that means the game is dipping below the VRR range.

At this point if it's new enough just return it and get something different. Before someone here gives you a random idea that makes that impossible for whatever reason.

Not everything needs a jury rigged fix, you paid for a product to work out of the box. If it doesn't work you return it.

I actually can't change those options still even when game mode (adaptive sync) is off, its greyed out and says "can't use function" so i assume they're already off

It doesn't mean they're off, it just means some other setting is preventing you from changing it. A number of settings will be greyed out if Game Mode is on, for example.

i am on the latest frimware (1604) and also latest nvidia drivers

It doesn't mean they're off, it just means some other setting is preventing you from changing it. A number of settings will be greyed out if Game Mode is on, for example.

Do you by any chance know which setting is preventing me from changing them, maybe i have to switch to HDMI ?

you maybe getting a slight CPU bottleneck and what your experiencing is the 1% lows and minimums

running around a heavy area for a couple of minutes and these are my avg, 1% and 0.1%, yet when i move my camera around i see duplicating stuff. Its not stutters

I really do not understand what you mean by duplicated frames. I think you are simply seeing stuttering, if the average frame time is 10ms and you get a frame that persists on screen for 20ms that will be visually indistinguishable from a 10ms frame sent twice to the monitor.

To make this clear, you can get duplicated frames only if :

1. You are below the VRR range.
2. The game is running with double or triple buffered vsync.

im not sure if you can even see it honestly, it does look a lot worse on youtube than when actually playing. The last 10 seconds of the video is the closest to what i see when moving my camera.

I have around 90fps here and never dip below 60fps btw

Listen, in the settings you have frame generation on, you say the game runs at 90fps. That means the game is actually running at 45fps internally, this means you are looking at 22ms per frame with a generated frame in between + whatever extra latency there is.

The game will not feel smooth at that frame rate, the fact that this is visible on the video means this has nothing to do with VRR. Disable RT and leave FG on and I bet all of this stutter will go away.

I have turned off frame generation and put dlss on ultra performance for big fps and capped it to 60, feels like garbage, capped to 75, still feels like garbage, capped to 90 feels a little bit better but it still feels not smooth, capped to 120 and it became smooth again

I tested The Finals and using their in game cap, 60-90fps caps all feel not smooth only when i put it 100 and higher it becomes normal and smooth

60fps feels like garbage because it's 60fps on a high refresh rate display.

The problem is you are playing these games and frame rate jumps all over the place, if the game is running at 90fps with dips close to 60 it will not feel smooth. The reason you never noticed this when you had a 60hz display is because the frame rate would never go above 60hz.

Dips from 90 to 60 are jarring, it will not feel smooth, especially with FG on. I already said this but VRR does not save you from fps drops, changes in fluidity in the 45 to 100hz range are very noticeable.

You mentioned earlier that you tested with 60Hz, but I honestly have a hard time believing that you did (and it seems like you only tried capping to 60fps, which is not the same thing and does not do anything for this problem). Try actually setting your G70NC to 60Hz and try again.

And if you really did test with 60Hz and did not like it, then frankly that's just the way the game behaves, at that point.

Without VRR, a high refresh display running at 60fps will feel infinitely worse than a native 60Hz monitor without VRR. Even with the help of VRR, a high refresh display running 60fps will still probably feel worse than a native 60Hz monitor, providing a less smooth experience overall.

It doesn't matter if the fps counter looks stable or not. You can be pegged constantly at 60fps and things will not be any different. It's just how things are - that's why some form of VRR is mandatory for high refresh monitors, even though the two are two separate things.

Switching to HDMI sounds like the right idea. Those Picture Clarity settings are TV oriented, and the Samsung panels are originally HDMI only (G70NC being some sort of modified QN90B/QN90C panel), they just added a DP for convenience on G70NC.

Do you still have one of those features (Adaptive Sync or VRR) turned off? I wouldn't be surprised if them being on will automatically change the right Picture Clarity settings choices for you.

I don't know why would i waste my time and everyone else here lying about me testing stuff. Im gonna stop tweaking anymore settings since my pc froze on me as i was changing the refresh rate again and my picture settings changed and had to calibrate all over again. Im going to accept that thats how low fps looks like on high refresh rate monitors for now. When i get the LG C4 i'll test on that and see if i experience the same thing. It’s starting to sound like you have other issues at play here. You’re system shouldn’t have froze from just changing display settings

If you have FG on with a 0.1% low of 75 that means a real fps drop down to 37. The latency will be horrible, that's 30ms+ of delay in-between input and final frame, it will feel much, much worse than if those fps figures were without FG.

FG is very misleading, if the game runs at 100fps you are actually playing a game with the input delay of 50fps. It will not feel smooth, ever.
