Your PC ATM

Is that a serious question?
It is. There is a very good reason why fans generally have a minimum operating speed.

Literally the first sentence.
Yeah, I read it. That is your logic for doing it, not the reasoning for why.

My point is, minimum active cooling exists because of short burst activity spikes from the hardware that can very quickly cause a lot of heat. If the fans are not running at a minimum speed that heat will have nowhere to go for a few moments while the system detects the heat and starts up the fans, which has the potential to cause problems, even permanent damage.

My friendly advice would be to suggest you let the fans run at their minimum speeds.

This might sound rude, but you are talking to the purple elder dragon PC enthusiast. Don't forget that. ;)

Fair enough. This particular Non-Purple Redragon, long suffering PC Wizard knows enough to be wise and not shut off his fans. Only sharing the wisdom. It's your PC, do as you wish.. Meant no offense to you at all. :toast:

For a while temps got slowly higher when gaming, yesterday I noticed my GPU temps went up to 68 and hotspot around 82, cleaned out the dust of my case today with some nice effective results.

No need to change TIM or thermal pads, it's temps are still like it was new. (2070 Super) :D

My 980 Pro M.2 SSD got upto 41 degrees while running a game of it.

My other M.2 970 Evo got also upto 41 degrees.

I'm happy with it!

damn bro nice drop in temops from just a dusting. I have seen you upgrade so much over the years I have to ask why hang onto the 2070?

Upgrading kitchen equipment you mean?
Listen bro. Tech is temporary. Pots and pans are the true end game. Shit is expensive.

back to desktop, back to life.
Laptop was giving me a hard time.

the thing was, since past few days laptop started turning off on it's own, same thing with battery, different power strip and socket too.

But i will dearly miss playing cricket 24 and bocw, the mx130 is capable of running both at 1080p low with 30fps. with gt 710 (my desktop gpu), Former is playable at lowest settings with max stable oc and with thermal paste reapplied it can do better but bocw won't even launch due to lack of vram.

That would be a very easy and inexpensive card to replace. There are a whole bunch of cards that would be a wonderful upgrade. If you'd like some help or suggestions, start a thread in the following forum section below and tag me, would be happy to help.
Basic info we need to know is what your other system specs are now, what your budget might be and what region of the world you're in.

If life has caught you in a tough place, there's no shame in that, a lot of it going around still in this post-pandemic world. No one is going to give any one crap about it.

Give it some thought, maybe we can help you find a solid upgrade.

well, my pc is same as before. I am thinking of buyng a used gpu because anything new is very expensive for me, 1660 super looks good but has only 6gb vram, as games are getting pretty vram intensive i prefer atleast 8gb of vram. I just messaged a guy selling 6600 xt for okayish price considering it has still 1.5 years of warranty left. Will post a thread if i feel like so later.

Any good deal on a 5700XT locally? It's outstanding in 1080p, and really good at 1440p.

i want to avoid 5000 series because no mesh shaders support, i would play alan wake 2 and i think more games gonna implement in future.

Hi,
Well swapped my ek 280ce for a 280 gtx radiator and trashed the ek one hehe
Got the top part of the rad with ml140 push/ pull and one ml140 as push, no room for another push/ pull damn d450 case :p
Shortened the tubing a little on the rad

Also added a couple ml120 fans
One on top to cool memory and one on the top back to pull air out, hell I haven't had one there in years since that is where my second d5 pump was mounted lol
After all this I noticed some trap in my cpu block so I cleaned it out
Damn I love clear water blocks and qdc's :respect:

This was my PC before I tore it down, in a Lian Li V3000 Plus. Was too big, too heavy lol. Doing maintenance on it was just a pain. Draining the loop was easy, it was moving it around that was a hassle. So, it's tore down now, going into a NV7. Haven't started the build yet, but that case is great.

I'm going to do a large case soon...just to say I did one once. :D

I love building in them, possibilities are endless. But man, once you're done make sure you never have to move it again. What I did now, even for my mid tower NV7 when I'm done is i bought some wheels for it. Putting it on a dolly. Even if it's drastically lighter. I don't care lol. What case do you have in mind?

No idea on a case, but whatever it is it will go on a desk...never putting a pc on the floor again. Does someone make a case that houses two different motherboards? :p

The Lian Li V3000 plus does dual system I believe, if that's what you're asking.

Two motherboard trays in that case?

Edit: I see it now...if it had the ability for a micro-ATX instead of a mini I would be all in.

Hi,
Added my water temp sensor back on while I was cleaning my x299 water loop parts rad/...
This time I just mounted it on the gpu where a plug was and connected it to a t-sensor and renamed it instead of using the led display.
