Check for WHEA corrections (HWiNFO?) if bclk overclocking. PCIe is also affected as well as DRAM and I use to get quite a few with just ~102MHz with PCIe attached nvme so wasn't so keen to do that. Shame there's no provision for bclk straps!

how these xeons work with TB is thay will boost untill they hit the TPD so by undervolting the vcore the turbo boost gets more headroom = higher clocks.

With V3 you can fake power draw typically through IMON slope but the processor also uses built in tables to adjust as well as extra for some AVX instructions on the higher core count CPU's. Some values can be found here.

My bios mod, which added NVME and Rebar to my Fujitsu. Didn't work after clearing cmos. Bios just stopped at error 99 which has something to do with DXE drivers(NVME and Rebar). I ordered 16-pin clip from Aliexpress. I waited about month for that bios clip. This clip did not work with CH341a. Chip was not recognise by any CH341a Flashing program.

So last thing to try, was to use Raspberry pi with that clio. First guide had something wrong with pinouts->no connection in Flashrom. I did find second guide with little bit different pinout. Managed to make backup(for verifying data) and also managed to flash my older backup file.

I will probably give up modifying bios and use usb-drive with Clover. Atleast I can get NVME-drives bootable and also All core turbo-mod with this solution if needed.

NVME-boot on these C6++ chipsets also functions with the Western Digital AN1500 AIC. PCIe gen3 x8, no on-board bifurcation required.
The 2TB version has been on sale for 188 € in WD´s webshop since the last Black Friday sales.
You could then use Marvell-CLI for their 88NR41 chip to tweak to JBOD or Raid1 if desired (thereby violating WD´s warranty).

btw: found ~60 € for a NEW Fujitsu Celsius R940 mainboard -- bargain compared to Dell over here!

I have been wondering about those Western digital PCI-E cards, if they would work. In AliExpress there are NVME pci-e cards which description say they don't need bifurcation and has Asmedia chipset. I have been thinking if those would be also bootable without NVME support in bios. Bifurcation is not problem with R940(D3358) it is supported. Atleast I remember finding setting, from inside of the bios or from hidden IntelRCSetup-menu.

If the Fujitsu board you found, is D3358-A2 variant. It is a good find. It supports Broadwell and has NVME support in bios. Mine is just D3358-A1 which don't have support for those. Other differences I don't know, boards look exactly the same. I could try flash A2 bios to my A1.

Edit. Had to check Bifurcation is in IntelRCMenu.

Whenever getting too excited re: BIOS modifications for NVME-boot-support, resizable bar, even PCIe-lane splitting for these older workstations and servers,
I´m grounded by reports like yours. No Intel-Arc GPU for me then.
****

The Asmedia ASM2824 pci-switch doesn´t support NVME-booting.
It´s bandwidth is limited to eight pci-lanes: so limited to max. double (sequential RAID-) speed if on the hunt for records even with the 4-drive cards with this chip.
But useful for a dual-boot system c/w CLOVER-bootloader. A waste on your board with it´s bifurcation support.

This article gives some inside about Marvell´s 88NR2241 chip as used inside WD AN1500:

HighPoint´s BRD/SSD6202 dual NVME-cards use this chip, too. You can find the tools to mess with the cheaper AN1500 on their site.
The Marvell-chip based cards really are plug-and-play on our boards.

I just thought you may like RGB-lighting to not leave four pci-lanes of your MB´s PCIe 3x8 slot unused...
Then there are the pricier AICs based on Broadwell PLX chips. These need to be configured within UEFI environment.

The advert for he Fujitsu MB says "A13":
"Fujitsu D3358-A13 GS2 Mainboard NEU Sockel LGA2011 -3 für Celsius R940 S26361-D3358-A101"
Anyways, I was only looking for what interesting machine you have there.

No Rebar support without bios modding and if you want really use power savings on ARC cards you need working PCI-E ASPM-support. This is why I had to reset my bios with those DXE-drivers installed. Tried ASPM with ARC A750 and no boot->reset bios->Error 99.

My motherboard is that one. Original manufacturer for board is Kontron. If anyone is interested about it:
  • Made in Europe(Germany?)
  • 12-volt only power supply needed to use this board. If I need to change PSU, I will not get official Fujitsu made. Those Fujitsu spare parts are too expensive. This 90+ platinum PSU cost near 500€(New). So adapters it is
  • Jumper for disabling Management Engine
  • Jumper for (bios)recovery mode
  • Has 1 internal usb-connector->perfect for location for Clover usb-stick
  • Kontron utilities from Haswell time period work
  • Fan control is meh->I should research this more
  • Board probably fits to SSI CEB case->No IO-shield, it is integrated to case
  • 2011 socket(Square) supported heatsinks fit. I have 2 Be Quiet Dark Rock 4's
What I don't know a lot is VRM. It is made by IOR(Infineon). A1 has support for E5-2699v3 and A2 for E5-2699V4. No heatsinks on VRM. Cooling probably is designed more around for those Sunon 3000RPM case fans.

Glad to find a solution for your setup to make the rebar available and functional. Hoping you enjoying the benefit of better gaming performance with rebar on comparing to it been disabled. Wondering what the result be like.

No Rebar support without bios modding
Can be supported without BIOS mod. After BIOS POST can run an EFI to reallocate GPU address space and adjust BAR1 size with UEFI system. Also can be done with pure legacy system using MBR code. Not ideal though.

the only games i had real problem before the Rebar modd was fallout 4 which run at about 50fps but with non stop stuttering and metro first light which would not start. CP would run but with low frame rate but i havn't had the time to try many as life has been manic of late.

Yeah I know the feeling of stuttering on certain games that the issue with them not lining up with the fresh rate of the monitor resulting frame drops that why I use the frame capping method to reduce or eliminate stuttering. As for CP2077 it a mess I got to run that game on xeon x5675 and gtx 1050ti but frame capped the whole game to 30fps any higher it would bottleneck the pc due to the limitations somewhere in the bandwidth department of the motherboard including the gpu and cpu
