cheap gigabyte elit aorus-do both nvme slots work AND both pcie slots together?

brother wants me to build him a pc. 5600x and 5700x. internet, watching YT some gaming, mostly midrange not heavy aaa games, some video editing at 1080p.

and wondering if you could use the 2nd nvme slot at the bottom AND use the 2nd pcie slot at the bottom at the same time? I realize it will be slower.

I didnt see it say you could use both. I know another member mentioned the msi mortar max which i considered and it lets you use only 1 of the slots. either 2nd nvme slot or 2nd pcie

There's nothing in the manual reporting any disable devices/slots.
The PCIe slot will use 3.0x4 from chipset and the M.2 slot will use CPU PCIe 4.0
Unless a user with same mb model and config reports it...

EDIT: Four...? You just mention one disk in bottom slot and another disk in pcie slot with adapter...that's 2 disks.
Shouldn't be an issue on modern mb using the 1rst pcie x16 slot also with an adapter or are you thinking in multiple disk adapters... and no GPU, careful with BIF support.

I can test that, though I have only x1 add-on cards. I have two NVMe drives on that board currently.

And yeah like said above, the bottom slot is from chipset anyway.

edit: Found an old GPU and seems to work in that slot; my both NVMe drives work as well.

Yes, you can use them simultaneously as the block diagram on page 5 of the linked manual indicates.
However, the cumulative bandwidth will always be lower than PCIe Gen3 x4 since that is the link speed of the B550 chipset. Unless you want to capture video via a capture card in the chipset x4 slot onto an NVMe drive in the chipset M.2 slot, you probably won't notice that bandwidth limit.

For both gaming and video editing use, it is common to install the OS on the M.2 drive connected to the chipset and store your game library or video assets on the M.2 drive connected to the CPU.
