Rare GPUs / Unreleased GPUs

I do wonder if you could solder 2 more memory chips on one of these cards to make it 8gb

Only if you swap the ASIC to TU106. TU116 won't run 8GB with that configuration unless it were specifically setup to run higher density modules at 128-bit instead of 192-bit. You could theoretically increase it to 12GB by replacing the current modules, though.

The reason for those empty spots in the first place is because the PG160 board layout is also used for the RTX 2060 and RTX 2070.

Yea that’s what I was guessing with the missing spots, a 12GB 1660ti would definitely be interesting lol

Behold! The weakest and slowest GTX 1070 of all :respect:

Why it's weakest? It's another Engineering Sample and somehow this one has only 1152 shaders of 1920, so shader count is like GTX 1060 3Gb version, but bus and memory are from normal GTX 1070 - 256bit and 8Gb.

Works perfectly fine, checked it in some benchmarks:

Score is much lower than it should be. Normal GTX 1070 FE will get about 2200 points, but still it's more than GTX 1060 3Gb will get (about 1500 points).

That's actually really funny. I have had a few of those unfinished 1070s with the opaque window on them and they've all been regular 1070 specs. I wonder if it will accept the BIOS from one of the others still and unlock those extra units... Still that's awesome, a GP104 GTX 1060 8GB.

Some of these ebay listings are off the chain price wise. This is $1800 max value

For someone calling it a "master collection" it sure is missing a lot of GPU's lol.

Since ~Covid vintage/collectors anything has gone downright bonkers, everyone thinks everything they own is worth beyond top dollar. I don't see anyone paying this ridiculous asking price. I own most of those cards, and dozens more up to over 100, I wouldn't even value my collection at 8k USD.

Yep. I have over 80 cards in my collection, including a 4090 and a 4080 and my inventory sheet only puts the value at around 10k

I have a 5870, putting it up for 2.5K so I can afford a 4090.

I am a good person, don't be a fool and fail to give to a good person.

The black one is older. You can see it's a B0 with a board date of 1421, and the white/silver is C1 with a board date of 3821. The later card has also got the final fan and nearly final I/O plate design.
In my defense I did not look very hard. Though this does make me wonder if the board date can be tied to an approximate real date since knowing how far back its from be would be nice

@Darthgrey

I remember that guy from back in the day on overclock.net I messaged him on ebay and confirmed it was him. I dont think the card is worth anywhere near that. I have a couple myself, including 1 that has DP out.
