Capcom, are you completely out of your damn minds? I could say a lot about this, but I'm not in the mood right now. Please share your thoughts, this is getting out of control. You need to pay to start a new game in a single player game that's ~70EUR? :kookoo:

I'm wondering is it ever going to get back on track. The whole industry I mean. These companies have all the funds and time in the world to make awesome games, and instead we get this pile of crap. And the consumers keep consuming. And the media outlets keep lying, the majority of YT bastards find nothing wrong with it, as they are all part of the same industry.

Just remember that some years ago Steam started to "control" the reviews for games if they feel people are just review bombing. I don't use Steam as any kind of platform to inform me about how well a game is received or how poorly people think the game is. I prefer word of mouth and then I try to hit up multiple reputable review sites before I make any kind of judgement.

Yeah we have been here before right. There is already a huge indie game market, where things are finished proper and actual launch means game is gud, or good enough. No MTX. Offline play. There is GoG, which still gets market share and with oppressive games like these will only get more popular.

Vote with your wallet. Simple.

Well you only need a look at the store page and monetization of this game to form sound judgment. There is no way this is worth it.

Yes, the reviews are tampered with, that's obvious right now.
But I like Steam just for the sake of being able to read something like this:

With this release, I guess the hope of any good AAA game is finally lost...

Sure but AAA never really meant anything other than big corporate budgets and bullshit. Nothing of value was lost here imho. There are plenty good games coming out. I am already in postpone/wait and see mode with anything big budget since Cyberpunk.

Pay to win isnt new and we killed it already. Look at the backlash and the awareness among consumers and in reviews. People recognize this fine.

I was going to buy this game blindly because of the good things I heard from the first game but my brother saved me when he told me about the microtransac. This is Gaming as a Service except you need to pay for the game to work :D

And FFS, I need to stop investigating this, it will drain all of my today's life energy:

there are so many good people out there making fantastic indie games and i am sure a bunch of them will make a life time career out of it. Imagine what the guys behind Valheim could achieve in the next 5-6 years.
the first thing we all should do is filter out the billion dollar corpos with their soulless products and give the money to the people who actually care about gaming.

There are plenty of good indie games, that's true. I play Sons of the forest with a friend almost on a daily basis at the same desk on LAN, with beers and snacks. I'm also hating the game, because almost every minute I can't stop noticing the cuts that are made because hey, they are just a small studio. Going all the way to each of the extremes is not giving me any hope. And I just can't seem to find the golden middle between them.
I'll gladly buy Valheim again (refunded), when they actually finish the game. Amazing potential ruined by a large hype that made the developing company bosses so rich, so they just cashed out and abandon the game. How many people are actually working on Valheim updates nowadays? Two, three, or maybe just one? But let's not get off topic much. Indie games that earn insane money mostly by hype (which is a vacuum created by desperation for a quality games) and then get abandoned by devs aren't really a good counterweight to companies like Capcom for example. They are the same scam scheme, just on a different level. The industry is gone to hell, and no amount of good indie titles are going to change that. Yes I'm the person that reads many fresh negative reviews before even thinking about trying to play some game out there, let alone before buying it. I really don't have time to waste on a half-arsed indie games, as well as I don't have a lack of conscience to justify spending money on a AAA shitshows. I rarely play anything nowadays, anyway.

Alternatively: Im quite sure we can collectively mod our way into a half decent game here... Im in wait and see mode.

only valid criticism here is performance and just one save file (for some, I guess), everything else is pure nonsense. MTX are the same as in DD1 and all modern Capcom games, MH, RE4R, DMC5, etc. all MTX are available in game, no P2W whatsoever. love when people who doesnt know shit about the game try to criticize it, LULE.

PS. performance is still better then Last of Us remaster on PC.

only valid criticism here is performance and just one save file (for some, I guess)
For some?
, everything else is pure nonsense.

Couldn't care less for the TLOU. I love when people defend this anti-consumer practices of multibilion companies. Justifying your purchase much? Came fresh from leaving those comments on a negative Steam reviews? Those are the special kind of AI without the I.

for some people one save file is an issue. this is not a defence of MTX, its the same stuff CAPCOM was doing for years, hardly surprising. unless one has a very short memory. also MTX in DD2 dont matter and definitely they arent P2W. BTW what happened to claims about P2W, dropped silently, huh? Well, that's expected.

BTW Hard mode was a DLC in DD1. Damn you, Crapcom, how could you?! But Im sure you are unaware, coz you know nothing about subject at hand.

Dude, they released a paid DLC to give players the ability to start a new game in a single player RPG game! The NPC are popping out of a thin air and the FPS drops to under 30FPS in cities on a 5800X3D & 4090. The explanation was AI is heavy, lol. And FYI I played an original DD game... otherwise I wouldn't give a damn about the usual cash grab sequel/remake.

Oh man... Let me drop everything here for the reference:

That's right Capcom, show those players you care. Add that New Game button. :kookoo:

So that they were c*nts in the past somehow excuses that they are c*nts today... amazing logics.

Someone is quite high on copium...

Seems like an overpriced low quality product. Guess they're not mastercrafts all and you can in fact go wrong. I'll check again in a year to see if they've fixed it.

MTX being available in game to earn yourself makes zero difference, if there are items being sold on a store that provide ingame advantage of some substance (which is 100% the case here), you're looking at a full price game with P2W. There is no gray area here. Its either P2W or its not. Ubisoft pulls similar stunts with their AC installments lately. Its 100% skippable material to me - I don't even care if the game's fun. GTFO with that shit, it never belonged in gaming, its cancer.

Accepting that 'for what it is'... to each their own, but you're an idiot for doing so. This is why we can't have nice things.

Let's consider what cheats did and still do in many games. That's monetized and you're heralding it as a good thing. Get your head examined pls. In this case, the outrage crowd gets it right and everyone needs to hear it. Similar things apply to the lack of modding/mod support. Forced online in SP... None of this benefits you. Its a business model crammed through your throat, you never asked for this either. You're just in copium mode. Best to let that shit go ASAP if you want games to get better. You won't miss out on much in doing so. There's lots of stuff to play.

I fucking called it two months ago.

But $70 is too much, and with Capcom's latest actions involving retroactively adding DRM to old games, I'm not in a hurry to give them any money. Plus, they're known to put MTX in their single-player games (not even DD1 was safe from that in the beginning).

This is why you should never preorder.

I'll wait until Denuvo is removed, Enigma/Obsidium is "patched out", and the game is on a deep sale.

Such a shame... This series deserved better.
