As to temps, I was referring more to the 4070 family, but the GPU temps are better described as "just fine". Not leading the pack, but all big GPUs run cool nowadays.
I mean that's really the situation in a nutshell nowadays that's its almost a bar debate for $heets and giggles when every GPU peak is under 80c which is still under the maximum GPU temp.

TPU reviewed one not even a year ago, the few I owned I was always able to find a review. I'm sure the higher tier units get their fair share of reviews but the windforce ones are out there as well

To the surprise of no one, because two fan Eagle was already usually shit and WF is just a cost optimization of Eagle...

Triple fan Eagle/WF on 4070 cards is a very different cooler.

Good find... and this shows exactly what im talking about...

Windforce cooler is literally bottom of the barrel, except the Gigabyte eagle is even worse...
One pitiful direct touch heatpipe and a tiny cooler, that is truly a disgrace to the Windforce name.

I haven't tested any 4070 gpus, but it's a low power gpu, so perhaps true.

I have, however, tested a bunch of 4090s, and the windforce was the worst 4090 in every metric, except coilwhine, in which it had the least coilwhine (the irony of coilwhile scaling inversly with power delievery quality...).

Aorus was pretty good back in the 10 series, but Windforce is crap since 20 series.

Look here at some Gigabyte RTX 2060 Super OC V2. I had to grind the heatpipes since they were looking like this:

giga crap.jpg

The GPU was running with thermal limit at 83 Celsius (+100 hot spot) and after flattening the pipes 75 (90 hot spot).

Please check reviews on how the card performs and the thermals before buying Gigabyte...

Personally I don't even understand that why GPU coolers need that direct touch crap since they have a bare die which is somewhat problematic. With a CPU IHS it's understandable.

Avoid gigabyte cards, bad build quality, high temperatures and noise
I bought a Vega 64 Gigabyte and the temps were super high. When I opened the GPU 1/3 of the chip had no Thermal paste. Once I corrected that temps were again fine. Then when I bought a 6500XT Gigabyte with 3 fans it again had high temps. Once again I took the GPU apart and once again it was the same issue. Those GPUs are years apart which means that the Gigabyte Auto is not too good.
Yeah but it's Gigabyte RMA. Not quite like Asus (may as well not have a warranty), but high chance you'll be tearing your hair out
1713474670281.png

I've had a bad RMA experience w/ GB before but, it was so long ago and w/ GB's bad press the last couple years, I'd (poorly) figured GB would 'pull a Newegg' and get their s**t together.

Yeah... no way I could/would ever recommend Gigabyte.
If OP insists, enjoy. I can get the thrill of taking unnecessary risks

Same with my Aorus B550 board, dunno how their structure goes (that are the mobo and graphics divisions independent)

The MBs are rock solid nowadays. The fact is though that as long as you are not getting the bottom tiered boards you will be golden. For me I do not like how they have removed the 2nd PCiex16 slot on most boards.

@BMfan80 props for posting it.

But it shows exactly what i said - cyberpunk maxed out with no fps limit the windforce is at 70c with fans at nearly 2000 rpm, and only 2700 mhz core clock... exactly the same result i got with the 4090 windforce i tested, and the worst result of all the 4090s i tested.

This is the 4090 gaming that i decided to keep using myself - cyberpunk 4k pathtracing, with the card running bonestock settings. Roughly same temps as the windforce, but a fair bit lower fanspeed, and higher voltage and clocks.

And this the same, but using the undervolt i usually use - nice and quiet.

Fans are locked at 1500rpm, it peaked at 76c, using between 0.970v and 1.0v while using 460w
A pic I saw of your Gaming oc was 66c, using 0.925v while using 318w.

Yes, your fan rpm is lower, but you are using less voltage and wattage.
I can only hear my card when it goes ove 1800rpm and I have to lose attention from the game to notice it.
My other fans are T30's at 1000rpm, so I don't hear them at all.
Since you say the Gaming so superior, then show what temps it has at the same wattage and voltage.

You probably didn't see it, as you were writing your reply, but i put a screenshot with stock gpu settings in cyberpunk 4k pathtracing, and one with my undervolt.

The gaming goes to 1.05v by default, where as the windforce goes to 1.00 by default, so a little bit less voltage the windforce has to cool. As for the small watt differences, it's likely down to binning of the chips.

If you aren't annoyed by the fans on the gpu, that's great for you - but alot of people (myself included) are very sensitive to noise, and want the noise to be as low as possible - and it will never really be low with the windforce, unless you run a very aggressive undervolt, and consequently lose alot of performance.

Stock voltage on the Windforce is 1.05v.

Thank you for the reply.
Stock voltage on the Windforce is 1.05v.

Sure ? It is never at 1.05v on your pics though, even at max.

Regardless, if you compare your last screenshot with my stock screenshot, if looking at max, the difference is windforce at 6c higher, using 50 mv less, at sligtly lower fanspeed. If looking at current, the difference is windforce is 4c higher, while using 80 mv less.

Later i will do a comparison where i set voltage to 970 mv, and 2700 mhz, like your current stats, and see where it ends up.

But yeah, the gaming cooler is just a bit better, which you would expect with a bigger heavier heatsink, and bigger fans. Not trying to shit on your purchase, but yeah, as said, it's also what my testing showed when i had all the 4090's.
