ok, ran a bunch of different undervolt setups usine afterburner or adrenalin

Does this mean I need to change my BIOS to an older version to get the 2.06? am I going to see a significant difference thats worth the risk?

It doesn't look like there is even an AGESA 1206 BIOS available for your board. It released relatively late. The launch BIOS could be 1206 or 1207, but I wouldn't rollback to it.

I already said a number of times, you can stay with what you have, it just needs more hefty Vcore offset combined with CO to get on roughly equal footing with early 1206 BIOSes.

Also, 32C delta is kinda nuts.

Ever tried with GPU MemClock at default 2500MHz speed? …or at least 2550-2600MHz.
I’m not sure that 2800MHz benefits anything but certainly “steals” power from GPUcore.
TBP (W) is for the entire card including fans, leds and everything and when VRam has excess power draw, means that actual GPU gets less.

My Watercooled 7900XTX is having some serious issues when compared to others with the exact same setup listed below.

MSI B550 MAG Tomahawk Wifi
5800x3d
7900xtx
WD SN850x 1 tb
64 gb corsair lpx 3600mhz
1000 watt corsair 80 gold

I have tried at least 3 different bios
about 15 different adrenalin driver versions
I've tried drivers only
OverClocking
under volting
Default settings

tried with afterburner, tried in another motherboard Aorus X570

When comparing my stats to others, my scores are more in line with a 3070ti than they are with 7900xtx

See attached scores from Uningine Superposition, Time Spy (sometimes I do score about average as in the attached pic), PassMark. The lower numbers from each benchmark are default and the higher numbers are with OC settings of +15% power, 3000mhz gpu, and 2700mhz vram. All of these were taken within a few days of each other.

I just dont understand, this POS has been giving me issues since I bought it. Constantly having to ddu and reinstall drivers because it crashes my system. When it does work it performs like a $300 gpu and not the $1k I paid for it. AMD refuses to help because I bought it from BestBuy, BestBuy refuses to help since it has been longer than 1 year. Every time this POS gives me issues I want to rip it out of my system and beat it to death with a sledge hammer.

Thoughts other than I have a crap 7900xtx???
What water block are you using, pump, radiator… post cpu-z specs, can we get a photo of your system components, perhaps try win11.

How much CO, and how much offset? The CO should go as low is stable + doesn't start regressing performance. But offset needs to be dialed in specifically so that it does enough to bring load Vcore down, yet doesn't start reducing clocks and perf.

Score could be quite a bit better, but your idle power is looking a lot better (~30W).

Stock besides CPU having PBO -15 CO. Usually draws around 375-380w peaks on the XTX. Have you tried just straight CPU benchmarks?

My Watercooled 7900XTX is having some serious issues ...

Have you tested the card before you did things to it?

Where did you get this card, was it new?

Is it still in warranty?

Do you have some spare cash to temporarily get a different XTX and see how it performs?

I think I already mentioned this. No need to copy the Youtuber's power limits. You can cool it just fine, focus on undervolting. Setting 100 watts WILL be artificially limiting performance.

Well, after posting the uningine benchmarks yesterday I ran timespy. Mid test it froze, I waited about 10 min and could not do anything so did a hard reset. Pc would not boot. Multiple sfc /scannow did not work even though it found errors everytime. Booted in safe mode to run ddu and reinstalled adrenalin. Took about 6 reboots to finally get in but keep getting amd driver issues detected messages. Similar to the issues I was getting when. I first got the card.

CO undervolting isn't guaranteed to be stable. Which is why I said to dial it in first and make sure it is stable, without skewing the testing with power limits. Test all-core using R23 is fine for now. Test ST using OCCT or corecycler.

That being due to GPU instability seems unlikely, considering how much testing you've done, how long you've had the card, and how bad Wattman settings usually just reboots, it doesn't grenade your Windows install.

Did you ever properly memtest with TM5/HCI/Karhu to make sure XMP is stable?

why is the power limit -4?, (on the GPU) should be +15…

And it should be reading 468 in the adrenaline overlay. (7900xtx merc310) (Well, my adrenaline overlay says that)
My speedway score of around 7300, is achieved with power limit +15, RAM 2800, fast timing. 2955 clock. 1050mV. (Although that’s a bit unstable )
Speedway stress test at 1070mV is 7200-7275,

everything stock, gpu cpu (5800x) it is 6661.

my water cooling setup is bykski waterblock, (for the merc 310)
I went with the Bykski instead of the alphacool core 1, because it was 170, vs 400 (Canadian). for the alphacool.

bykski cpu (CPU-XPR-B-M-V2) syscooling sc-p93x, Corsair 360xr7, Corsair 420…
35gpu temps, 55 hotspot.

Timespy is 24538, stock. or 26199 overclocked (settings above)
Ram of 2800, is pushing it, 2750 or 2700 is stable.

(over locking my 5800x (adrenaline software) is 200Mhz Offset. I don’t bother with the cpu because it just throttles when it gets too hot, and water cooling the cpu is just (for me) for silenc

I tested many many different combos. Some underpowered just to compare. Best score seemed to be 3000mhz 1035Mv 2700mem and +15% power but that still does not get me close to factory scores consistently. One out of like 15 benchmarks I was close but couldn't get it to do it again.

I don't think it was cpu. This is the exact issue I have had with the gpu since the get go.

Yes, I have ran mem test and it is stable. Xmp enabled

so, now having driver stability issues similar to when I first got it. And like when I first got it it worked great when benchmarking. When it was stable the benchmarks were very low. after the timespy freeze yesterday I had to ddu a couple times and reinstall adrenalin. now I am getting great benchmark numbers but the driver issues are back. The driver issues usually only happen when I turn off the pc. When it is up and running it works great. If I have to reset it orr turn it off, the only way to get it back on is ddu and reinstall drivers or completely wipe it and reinstall windows. Here are the recent benchmarks since the ddu/ adrenalin reinstall.

passmark benchmark scores up as well

Doing some additional testing but I think I might have figured out an issue, not sure. When fresh install of adrenalin it is default settings, I do my tuning and get good scores. I enabled hyper-x because it says it's for max performance. My scores dropped 20%. With quality it drops about 1%. Going to run a few more times and see what I get

After several runs with Hyper-x on and off that seems to have been the issue. With it on I was getting a 20% decrease in performance. Complete opposite of what it is supposed to do. I still have the driver issues that I have had since the beginning though.

To fully nuke drivers (and this is what I do, always works for me but YMMV)

Download AMDdrivercleanup tool and DDU. Restart in safemode and run the cleanup first, then DDU. Reboot.

Offline install new drivers, reboot, back online. Glad your stuff is working better!

Nice. Looks much better than before. Hypr-RX is just a convenience bundling of a couple of AMD gaming-oriented features. If you just want to accurately bench pure GPU performance, leave that crap off. I can imagine that maybe the Super Resolution that is part of Hypr-RX might be interfering with benchmarks.

The CPU perf still looks all over the place. R23 and Timespy CPU are low, and although the consistency does look better than before, it looks like your CPU just refused to work halfway in the latter half of the physics test??

Recommendation:
Ditch CCC/Adrenaline/Radeon Settings entirely. Install "Driver Only", use MoreClockTool for basic Radeon Settings replacement.

Hyper-RX has gotten people VAC banned. AMD says they fixed that, but I do not trust any of their 'pre-packaged pre-sets' any longer.

Sounds like a corrupt Windows issue. You may need to nuke (wipe) and reinstall. If that doesn't help at least you can remove it from the equation.

It was anti-lag+ that was getting VAC for editing files.
