I really like my 256GB Samsung BAR Plus in Titan grey, but for a 512GB USB drive I went with the SanDisk Ultra Luxe as the SanDisk was significantly cheaper ($40).

I have a couple similar drives on my desk. Arista designed their switches with the USB port jammed in between the console and management RJ45 ports, and the only way to have all three ports engaged at once is with one of these bar-type thumbdrives. A "normal" thumbdrive will overlap the RJ45s; you can jam one cable in, but that torsions the thumbdrive down and risks internal damage and makes the other RJ45 impossible to use.

I got a 7800x3d/ASRock B650 Mobo/and DDR5 6000 CL 30-36-36-76 ram combo deal at Microcenter, $440 after tax was the total price. The 7800x3d is on sale for $216 at any Microcenter in person only and only if you buy ram and Mobo with it.

You can pick any Mobo or ram you want, once all three are added to your cart, the 7800x3d price will change to $216 in the cart automatically, then you just checkout for pickup order. Pretty good deal.

I wish this deal was going on last week, would have made my life easier, but oh well all done now. $216 for 7800x3d, count me in. :toast:

can you please explain to me what does this do for a headphone amp? I am confused by this item.

Used Rtx 3080 FE. But i play windowed fullhd 60hz so it is a little overkill. Uv to 850mv 1860mhz. Stock pads and stock paste,( temps high when benching) so i need to replace the pads, and apply mx6)

never seen a custom 3.5 jack to 3.5 jack? well i use it so i can strap the amp on the back of my walkman (or phone but i would need to use de DA06 DAC) and not have a 50cm+ cable between lo/po and line in

I just don't understand, if the 3.5mm Jack on the walkman is being taken up by the amp, how do you plug in the headphones?

ah ok, my brain wasn't working

I never thought of that before, take a walkman player, and then hook it up to an amp... huh interesting. I have a old Sony CD Walkman somewhere in storage, I might give that a try someday.

well, with my Kz Pr2 and the recently acquired Moondrop Chu 2 the Walkman max volume was not enough so as i mentioned in previous posts i acquired a cheap (between 6 and 15$) amp from AliExpress and it's literally perfect :) i love how they are not using and OPAMP chip but rather do it with SMDs (well ... OPAMP are just that on a more integrated scale )

i might be wrong ... but, hey! it works

Dell Latitude 7490, with the i5 8350u. €100. Was 8GB, had another 8GB stick for it so now 16GB. Replaced the 250GB Toshiba XG6 with a 500GB Kingston NV1. The Kingston is worse, but I need the space and I already had it laying around. Will probably get one of the complicated Honeywell thermal pads @FreedomEclipse talked about, because it gets toasty. Which I knew it would...

Also I can't really lift it on the left hand side, because the entire things freezes when I do. Which is annoying, but as long as I remember it it's fine. Otherwise seems like a pretty good little thing. I really wanted a second hand Zbook or something, but at €100 I felt this was a decent find.

Ive just repasted with some old MasterGel Maker I had in storage. Dropped temps about 10-20'c

My wife and bank is going to kill me for buying this thing or more correctly pre-order it and get it by later in 2024.

A fully autonome transformer and this one is based on megatron.

A video review of the the toy... Eh grown Mans toy, you dream about as a kid.

I still have original transformers in a box, one Dinobot Grimlock standing on a speaker near my TV.

that's a decent deal, it will run zoom virtual backgrounds too - you'd be surprised how many 2024 laptops on the latest nodes can't do this. it's pathetic and sad, and that comment is meant for both Intel and AMD. NO reason a brand new laptop on latest node (7520u, 7530u, N200, N305, etc) can't run virtual background on Zoom, yet an ancient 8th gen i5 can with 0 issues. Absolute joke of an industry.

Too replace my faithful 17 old 360 rad fans one of the bearings finally let go.

I got a 4 pack of airtags. Wanted to get something compatible with Android, but there's nothing like it for Android. Got one for the dog, the others for purses and backpacks and such.

I need help I think my ThinkPad multiplied itself by 1 so now there is 2 o_O

I got my hands on this Lenovo ThinkPad L14 G2 for about £242 at work and it was listed as a Grade C which I cannot see any signs that shows it should be a Grade C.

The listed specs was:
CPU: Intel Core i5-1135G7
RAM: 16GB DDR4
SSD: Kioxia 512GB NVME
Screen: Innolux H140-HCA-EAC 1920x1080pixel 300nits
WiFi: MediaTek MT7921 WiFi6
WWAN Upgradeable

The battery only had 57cycles on it and had a capacity of 42,680 mWh of total 45,000 mWh

Plus another surprise that wasn't listed a Quectel EM120R-GL 4G LTA-A modem o_O
20240503_090232.jpg

I guess this laptop just keeps giving me surprises :D

I already upgraded it to 32GB of memory, WD Red 1TB NVME and Intel AX210 WiFi 6E from my T480 and I took out the 4G LTE-A card not gonna use it so I listed it for sale together with my T480.

I am planning to upgrade the panel to a Innolux H140HCG-GQ2 Low Power 400nits panel which have 100% sRGB when I got the money.

Got a $196 brand new Ryzen 7800x3d.

@oxrufiioxo all I do is win win win no matter what!

My latest tech purchase was a 4070 Ti Super and a CoolerMaster GP27Q (1440p, 165hz, Mini Led, you know the drill).

Whilst I enjoy both items in games and at work, I'm certainly not blown away by them either. Upgrade from an old 60hz Dell UP2716D (I need Adobe RGB coverage as a Livery Designer), and a 6750XT.

I think their longevity will be more impressive than their current performance. Especially as I'll need that 16gb of Vram (plus CUDA support) for a company expansion to 3D design.

alright... not too bad.. PBT single shot, the light does not shine thru, tho on a floating key keyboard, it's somewhat okay... (and hey ... almost ten time cheaper than the one from Asus, 17chf instead of 149chf)
20240503_225135.jpg
i am used to type blind, so no worries  tho the light from the monitor is enough ;) (turned it off for that shot)
white red and yellow keys with a plethora of spares, various according to the theme and some extras
20240503_131646.jpg20240503_131946.jpg
two size of spacebar, ANSI layout (sadly) but it has the superior ISO Enter key :p

now my keyboard is accorded to the GPU jig and themed after the OG "blonde twintail tsundere"
yeah it's a f'cked up layout ;)
20240503_225153.jpg
i used the "special" for the accents/del/ins/pgdn/pgup/print/<>/shift/tab/ctrls/alt/alt gr/fn/backspace ahah ... luckily i know which one is what

also getting used to switch from a OEM profile to a all the same height MA profile (tho they feel not as tall as original MA ... maybe a DSA or XDA instead) is ... interesting ...
