The Apex Q (which stands for quiet) is meant to be an understated, sound dampened version of the Apex and Apex Air. With its ability to hold E-ATX boards alongside a 420 mm radiator, the Apex Q could present a pretty affordable entry for those wanting the interior space together with understated looks and sound dampening.

This feels like a bizzare halfway step between the Define R and Define S while also missing the point of both. Maybe I’ve just used FD cases for so long that I am now seeing patterns everywhere. But it’s well specced and has a good price, so hard to say no to that. Doesn’t look like a Michael Bay Decepticon, so that’s nice too. That trend of PC case design seems almost completely gone nowadays, come to think of it.

Cheiftec makes cases for other brands, not that most brands don't "borrow" ideas from one another

I appreciate the clean minimalist looks and the lack of gaudy light show but this is almost too minimal. Fractal has some interesting designs but I really wish there was more interesting design work happening in the case industry. Lian Li need to go back to their roots and put out some full AL slabs like they used to in sizes that are bigger than ITX.

Open top negates sound-proofing capabilities. Suggesting with weight low next to volume, capabilities low from the start. If somebody wants cheap sound-proofed case, so one cheap, but not silencing much, better go Pure Base 500 - imo overally better with few nice advantages like swappable top panels, two good fans giving decent thermal performance or bottom filter achievable from the front.

Really cool case. Always been a fan of Chieftec, and I like normal looking cases. It came down to this and the Fractal Torrent as my choices. I think this is a better looking case, but I took the Fractal because I prefer top mounted psu.
