TPU's Nostalgic Hardware Club

Remember these GPU AIOs?

Wow, the early days of LQCooling for PCs. Radical eh?

Here be the "couch" Cthulhu.View attachment 348163

Quick specs:

Seasonic SS-351FS PSU (don't mind the ANS sticker - the Seasonic unit came with none originally.)
Luckytech P5MVP3 mobo
AMD K6-II+ 500MHz
Philips DVD-RW (got it in a bundle w/ a lovely black Plextor PX-116A)
160GB WDC over Promise Ultra100 TX2 PCI controller
36GB Seagate ST336607LW over Adaptec AHA-2940UW
Kobian Riva TNT2 M64
Intel Pro100 NIC
Nice couch cover!

RETRO Hardware has found some more rare stuff to play with. :)

Almost the craziest cases ever.

Might be a few in this list that interest you, current list of my DX9 / 2004-ish box

BTW, that is a nice list. There two titles that stand out to be as something that should not be missing: Return to Castle Wolfenstein & Command & Conquer Tiberiun Sun. But then again, there are a ton of titles like that, so I digress.

Some recent additions to the collection, slowing down looking for more desirable additions now, but some just fall in my lap too.

AMD Radeon RX 480 4G

Nvidia Quadro FX 3400 256M (I believe, yet to test it)

Gigabyte GeForce 760 OC 2G

Nice, a Quadro version of 6800 with 256MB GDDR3 :)

Yep, a nice addition to the AGP and PCIE 6800 Ultra's I have (both BFG oc) bought and kept the AGP one from new, its my all time favourite card.

PNY 6800U AGP here :toast: though it has defective VGA signal output in both DVI ports, DVI signal works fine at least.

Can anyone tell me why i put the power connecter on here ?I can see where the speaker connecter goes bur not the pwr one :(

Omg I just threw one of these out that had been sitting in a box for like 15 years.
You should've revived it like I did on my 2nd rig's Corsair H70 :)

Best guess for the case power button is C-SW.

See the one that says "ATX Power"? There you go, or were you talking about the power switch/button connector?

Photo's from above the actual board would be a lot more helpful.
Sorry i did not explain my self yes the
*The power switch Button Connector*?What pins do i connect it to ?
It will be the top 1st pin and the third pin that say SWLED (Switch LED) aka Power LED
Thanks for that Athonite :) I think Lex must think i am an idiot if i did not know where the ATX Power connecter:rockout:I have been testing motherboards for a number of years now, with not much succes.:(

Well this was the cheapest Motherboard at £3 ,and as you see it is all working fine.:clap:And i only had to do a bit of dusting on it.:)

My bet is that C-SW as well. Gotta love how they're (mostly) standardized with modern hardware. :D

Another fun project in progress.
Newest version Windows 11 (pure uefi mode but secure boot disabled) and 3Dfx voodoo1 from 1997
Asrock H77, Xeon 1220v2, 16gb ram, 256gb ssd, HD6570 for 2d whitout drivers so no hw acceleration, chieftek 450w psu.
Windows is modded to accept the unsigned driver, limited to 640x480 16bit for compatiblity. I use the modded windows server 2003 x64 drivers (XP x64) for the voodoo.
CPU is too fast, at stock speed the games not recognizing the card, at the lowest 1600mhz games are starting but freezing.
There is known bug on these cards, over 800-1000mhz cpu cards not working. (not even in dos!)
At full cpu speed unreal1 glide, not starting.
139440_yydgprgyzfwhc9jh_20240525_214022.jpg
And at 1400mhz:
139440_byufhvfptgo4an9w_20240526_210430.jpg
(i disconnected the 2D card to prove the voodoo is started so the windows is passing the glide api to the card)
So it is a very little success.

I have a pcie to pcie adapter for the newer platforms. So it is possible to use hardware glide acceleration even on win11 but i need to fix the cpu bug first.

you should put a plastic garbage bag sheet on the couch , to protect them from static electricity

That would be a bad Idea as plastic bags create alot of Static electricity build up everytime you move them
