If you remove the hs carefully can you see that it's making contact to the top of the ssd because that's fairly hot mine on my Strix X670E E- gaming wifi usually sits at ~29c idle and running the samsung perf test or CDM gets it upto 43c max during write ops which is when it will create max temps and yours tells me something is not right and I'm betting that the HS is not making decent contact with you NVMe SSD also check to make sure you have the latest firmware for that WD SN850X

Did your mobo come with some little rubber feet looking things mine did and they're for under the ssd to keep it flat against the HS

To be honest. This rig is history. I build a new one. At the old one some parts are substitutes to make it to a development database server. The Mainboard, Case, SSD, GPU, RAM and CPU will be changed. I will start the conversion after i finished the new one. Also the next Gen is already in defining state.

Btw: I have Arctic thermal pads (all 3 heights) laying around if the headspreader doesn't fit. But i will use them for the new watercoolers.

But for me a PC is not a plaything. I earn money with my rigs. It's not the first PC i built. First i did build Endor 1.0, a 2700x with an Asus X470 Crosshair, ... All aircooled in a BeQuiet 801 Case. Then this one (Naboo 1.0) with a 3800x CPU at a Gigabyte Aorus Master 1.0 MoBo and now a (planned) 9950X (Endor 2.0) with an Asus Proart X670E MoBo. It could be that i will buy a X870 MoBo for the new one to have actual Hardware mounted. If i will buy a new MoBo the ProArt will make it's way with a 7700X into Naboo. But i will definitely use new cases with better cooling attributes.

If you name the measured temps in this review good you must have been read a different review about a different case.

What do you call crap temps are you talking about idle or full noise
1: What and how many fans do you have installed and do you use a custom fan curve or just let the mobo bios control them
2: What AIO are you using
3: What are the temps that you're seeing

because I have the same case and temps are fine in it
I would, not for the first time, direct peoples attention to the testing methodology. The cases are tested with out of the box fan setup. Since the O11D Evo XL comes with whopping 0 fans… well, let’s just say that OF COURSE that setup isn’t thermally stellar. It’s not meant to be, Lian Li does expect the user to add their own. And, considering the track record of O11 family, I don’t think anyone debates how cool they run WITH a proper setup.

Very nice case. One thing that I don't understand is the I/O panel on the bottom. Dust will get in there, wires will need to be extra long, and I can't plug in a USB drive without getting out of the chair and kneeling down on my hardwood floor.
It's for people who have their PC on their desk instead of under it.
For thumb drives, just put an external USB hub on your desk, or use the one on the back/side of most current monitors.

Nice ... I half wouldn't mind one of these to replace my O11 Air Mini, moving the Air Mini to one of my other rigs or something.

Call me old-fashioned, but I don’t like cases where the intake is parallel with the mobo and the front is a glass panel. It just doesn’t feel right to me, vs. a conventional front-to top-and-back airflow case, and you can’t place it against a wall or half of your air intake is blocked.
That‘s why I got a Lancool III vs. an O11 last year (and as a bonus I didn’t have to splurge for 3 140mm fans when I added a 420mm rad, too).
