The bell tolls, but it brings good news… Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees Metallica strike Fortnite in v30.10! This means an immersive music experience starting June 22 and a Metallica Season in Festival starting June 13 WITH v30.10. It also means a Battle Royale POI based on the M72 World Tour and a Rocket Racing track to take the corner!

METALLICA: FUEL. FIRE. FURY.
Experience Metallica's music like never before in Metallica: Fuel. Fire. Fury. This journey through six of Metallica's fan-favorite songs features gameplay that matches the intensity. The Master of Puppets awaits…

Dominated by the anticipation? Made by Magnopus, "Metallica: Fuel. Fire. Fury." will have six different showtimes across two days:
SATURDAY, JUNE 22, 2024
  • 2 PM ET
  • 5 PM ET
  • 11 PM ET
SUNDAY, JUNE 23, 2024
  • 10 AM ET
  • 2 PM ET
  • 5 PM ET

The experience will be in Fortnite's Discover screen for thirty minutes each showtime, so even if you jump in later than the start, you can be part of the full show. Choose a time that works best with a party of up to four! Just catch one of the shows so you can finally sleep with both eyes closed.

We hear your fans screaming - content creators in the Support-A-Creator program can share their "Metallica: Fuel. Fire. Fury" experience with the world.

TAKE THE BATTLE STAGE IN FORTNITE FESTIVAL SEASON 4
James, Lars, Kirk, and Robert. These four are the Icons of Fortnite Festival Season 4! But they're not just here to perform - they're here to battle. Season 4 brings a new experience that'll stick around after Season 4 ends: the PvP Battle Stage! 16 players enter, one will emerge victorious. (It's a musical free-for-all!) Bring the heat to the Battle Stage, Jam Stage, or Main Stage to progress in the Season 4 Festival Pass!

The Festival Pass has a free reward track and Premium Reward Track upgrade. Both have in-game rewards to unlock as you keep rollin' through the Pass, including the Premium Reward Track's James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo Outfits! Just by purchasing the Premium Reward Track, you'll unlock the Lars Ulrich Outfit. Fortnite Festival Season 4 goes live June 13 when v30.10 releases.

Roam outside Fortnite Festival? Adapt to the unknown in LEGO experiences with James, Lars, Kirk, and Robert's LEGO Styles!

When you're back in the spotlight, complete Fortnite Festival's Metallica Quests in a pursuit to unlock James's ESP Snakebyte Guitar and Robert's Warwick M72 Bass. These sequential Quests will be available until July 21, 2024 at 4 AM ET.

RIDE THE LIGHTNING IN BATTLE ROYALE
Be a flash before enemies' eyes - Ride the Lightning guitars will be on the Battle Royale Island! These instruments are as mobile as they are musical… Use one to create a lightning arc in the sky that your squadmates can ride. On your descent, come crashing down to bring the beginning of an enemy's end. Get this guitar from the ground or Chests!

Ride the Lightning isn't the only way to go sky-high. In the middle of every match, the floating Metallica Loot Island will rift from a hole in the sky. It's no dream or lie - atop this island is a stage inspired by the M72 World Tour! Rock out to the holographic James, Lars, Kirk, and Robert to capture the POI and let loot loose (including Ride the Lightning).

Oh yeah, you can also earn an Emote and Loading Screen from Battle Royale's Metallica Quests! These sequentially available Quests, plus the other marks of Metallica, will be in BR 'til July 2, 2024, at 9 AM ET.

RING THE BELL! COMPETE IN THE METALLICA CUP
Ride the lightning all the way to victory. The Squads Fill, Battle Royale Metallica Cup happens June 18 and gives players the opportunity to earn the foreboding Ringer Emote before it resounds in the Shop! Earn this Emote by being one of the top point-earning players in your region.

Fortnite Metallica Cup
Competitors can play up to ten matches within their region's three-hour time window, and the specific event timing for each region can be found in the "Compete" tab in-game.

(Note: Once a player participates in a region in any competitive event during Battle Royale Chapter 5 Season 3, they will be locked to that region for any subsequent sessions of that event, as well as all sessions for future events in the Season.)

Among other requirements, competitors must have Two-Factor Authentication enabled and verified on their Epic account and be at Account Level 15 or above. (You can find your Account Level in Fortnite's "Career" tab.) Players with Cabined Accounts are not eligible to participate in the Metallica Cup. For full details and eligibility requirements, please see the Metallica Cup Official Rules.

GO FULL SPEED ON A NEW ROCKET RACING TRACK
You've got the fuel, the fire, but it's still not hot enough. Turn up the temperature on Rocket Racing's new Thrash Mountain track! This volcanic track is a tribute to all things rock - and not just the geology kind. You've got instrumental monuments, a stretch of road like a fretboard, and Metallica's "Fuel" playing in the background.

This is a pretty hardcore track, but that doesn't mean it's hard. This is a Novice track you can unlock in ranked racing at Bronze I!

Return to the fire - the Backfire Car Body is one of the rewards for Rocket Racing's Metallica Quests. So are the Puppetmaster Backfire Decal and Chasing Light Wheels! Shred the path all the way to the finish line.

The Thrash Mountain track and sequential Metallica Quests will be in Rocket Racing 'til August 16, 2024, at 9 AM ET. Turbo fiends, drift everywhere you can on Thrash Mountain!

PUPPET MASTERS, MUSIC, AND MORE
We're not fading to black just yet! Metallica will also send thunderwaves across the Shop.

There's a fire inside that can't be quenched. Starting with v30.10 on June 13, the Puppet Master Outfits for Lars, James, Kirk, and Robert will be in the Shop! Get these Outfits in the Shop up until August 16, 2024.
  • Puppet Master James
  • Puppet Master Lars
  • Puppet Master Kirk
  • Puppet Master Robert

These Outfits give each member an otherworldly wardrobe - including flame-emitting eyes and a blazing skull breastplate. Fitting for masters of miniature figures, each Outfit has a LEGO Style:

ENTER MORE SONGS
You can unlock the "One" Jam Track in the Festival Pass' Premium Reward Track, but if one's not enough, you can also get these Metallica tracks from the Shop:
  • Metallica - "Enter Sandman"
  • Metallica - "Fuel"
  • Metallica - "Master of Puppets"
  • Metallica - "Ride the Lightning"
  • Metallica - "The Unforgiven"
  • Metallica - "Wherever I May Roam"

There'll be more Metallica Jam Tracks over the weeks too. They'll be in the Shop 'til August 16, 2024!

BURN RUBBER
Get your road crew together because the Metallica Jäger 619 Bundle will be in the Shop until June 26, 2024:
  • Jäger 619 Car Body (has 13 paint colors)
  • Circuit Pro Jäger 619 Decal
  • Euphoria Jäger 619 Decal
  • Kraken Jäger 619 Decal
  • Storm Warning Jäger 619 Decal
  • Stripes Jäger 619 Decal
  • The Summit Jäger 619 Decal
  • Puppetmaster Jäger 619 Decal

Everything in this bundle is eligible for cross-game ownership with Rocket League!

If you already have the Jäger 619 Car Body in Fortnite, you'll automatically receive the Puppetmaster Decal when it comes to the Shop, as well as ALL Jäger Decals that come to the Shop in the future if they're not in your collection. This applies to all Car Bodies starting in v30.10. If any Decal for a Car Body you own enters the Shop, you'll receive that Decal automatically if you don't already have it.

@freeagent, I think we're leaving the Metallica appreciation society. This is most heinous.

Yes, by having a cross-promotion event in Fortnite, a game where most of the players are of the zoomer generation who have most likely not been exposed to Metallica unless their parents/friends are core metalheads and rockers.

They should concentrate on getting back to their roots, and release albums that hit hard, like their 91' album and Reload. St. Anger was okay since it resonated with me at the time.

They're pretty old, they're closer to retiring than they are to their roots lol.

I don't really care for this either way, I don't even understand what this is exactly, I know that I'm looking forward for an opportunity to see them live since I didn't have that chance so far.

Exactly. 72 Seasons was OK (especially Lux AEterna and If Darkness Had a Son) but not as grand as their early albums.

They still put on a good show. Saw them for the first time last summer.
Was it Metallica in their 20s & 30s? No, but they played well and the set list was not filled with too much newer stuff.

They closed with Puppets so that's a bucket list item I can check off, Orion too (did not expect that) :D
Also got to see Pantera (w/ Zakk) open for them which was awesome, literally the loudest live act I have ever seen.

The best were the early years right up to "And justice for all".
I still remember when the black album came out, many were saying they had sold out with the change in their music style... Yes, "The memory remains" of it here.

Do recall in their early years they struggled (Within?) to make ends meet and I guess they figured after awhile it was time it all paid off and I say good on them for it.

Now:
I too am not really "Up" on their later stuff as preference but "No Leaf Clover" was very good at least.

"Ride the lightning" was an excellent album that shoudn't be missed like "Master of Puppets" is itself.

OK - Now I'm headed back to the "Sanitarium" where I probrably belong... Just leave me be.

Which is easily their best work.

For me their last good (or at least interesting) album was St Anger. I've listened to their later stuff, but it wasn't for me.
They should concentrate on getting back to their roots, and release albums that hit hard, like their 91' album and Reload. St. Anger was okay since it resonated with me at the time.

Which roots though? Thrash, progressive, heavy metal, or the bluesy stuff? To me what has made their later recordings boring is that it feels like they are trying to do just that: return to a previous state rather than moving forward. Also I don't think I have ever seen anyone describe Reload as "hitting hard".

At first glance it looked bad, second glance tho, maybe this way the new fucked up generation might have the chance to connect to some real music this way.
If there's a band's music that can appeal to almost anyone, that's Metallica's.
Maybe something good will come out of it.

Wow, the hate is real.

Get a fucking grip folks.

Much of it is tongue-in-cheek.

But this line misses the mark so much:

This journey through six of Metallica's fan-favorite songs features gameplay that matches the intensity. The Master of Puppets awaits…

Master of Puppets is a song about addiction and the destruction hard drug use causes (the drug is master and the user is the puppet.) Metallica's journey as a creative group encompasses many messages, so when you see popular throw-away culture referencing a song that actually has a profound meaning, this is where you can see the 'sell-out' label being applied. Yes, it's all for fun, but in creating fun out of what was once a cultural statement (and one that still rings true) really does diminish the impact of what the artist intended when they wrote the song.

So, go stick some metal up your ass. :p

LOL so sad that Metallica sells out once again.
Business is business. Making money is not a bad thing. But my personal gripe here is....

...THIS!! WTAF is this crap?!? The world does not need the band members of Metallica recreated in LEGO! It's a contradiction in ideals and cultural significance.

Lego band members of Def Lappard? Hell yeah!
Lego band members of Journey? Alright!
Lego Avril Lavigne? Sweet!
Lego band members of A-Ha? Great!

That's what Funko Pops are for.

I might be somewhat interested in the Funko Pops for some reason.

The feeling passed, close call :)

That has nothing to do with selling out. Fair share of people our age play Fortnite too.

They wont ever go back to their roots. They focus on innovating and making a better album than the last. It's how you grow. If a band doesnt evolve, then they would get criticized for not adapting with the times and that they always sound the same.
