Another one of those cursed cards...

Looking for a compatible RX570 VBIOS on my card. Can take photos of card board later if needed but have stock VBIOS attached (identical to this database upload). Die # is 215-0910052 (RX 570); has 1xDVI 1xHDMI 1xDP and 8192MB (8GB GDDR5) Micron MT51J256M32HFB.

Not sure how to filter by memory vendor/timings so it's been decently tricky to sleuth for compatible ROMs.

Tested as partially compatible:

https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/215807/asus-rx5708gb-8192-190722 - works but is missing at least HDMI compatibility (can't check DP at the present)

This is a 2048SP, the device ID only matches the other ones. I'm needing a compatible 570 VBIOS, and have gone through like 2 pages of them checking memory timings and downloading any ones that may be compatible.

Didn't make it clear in OP I'm not looking for that, not your fault

If the OG Vbios is for a RX 580 why are you trying to downgrade it to a 570?

A RX580 2048SP is not the same as a RX580 2304SP. The ASIC in it is from a 570 and it's pretty much identical outside of branding. It causes issues with macOS so I'm hunting for a match.

By the way, here's the two closest retail matches I've found

The ASIC in it is also stock for a RX580 2048SP.
GPU Variant Polaris 20 XL (215-0910052)
From my brief search it is only on the 2048SP variety or a Sapphire mining card.
It's possible you might find a RX570 Vbios for it though.
Here's another that has the same Micron ram and the 20XL chip:

I already tested the one you linked, has broken HDMI and possibly DP, but does actually boot

I'm currently running down a list of every single RX 570 VBIOS with 8GB VRAM that has compatible Micron timings, I will update original post as I find working ones

Unless there was an RX 570 (or 470) with the same PCB, you can expect some sort of issue like this. If you find a VBIOS that looks right you can look at the review for its card to see the pictures of its PCB.

Currently I only know you have a D00034 bios shared with us (stock.rom).
Please make a picture of the PCB and share it with us since that will tell us also a lot.

OP has actual die # and RAM chip, let me check camera roll (didn't snap any for some reason...) and dig for thermal paste if I didn't snap any photos

there is no possibility to edit timings? using some tool maybe?
Port compatibility is still an issue and it still has to support that specific Micron RAM; I've tested one with Micron support and transplanted timings but it didn't work, though I don't think I remembered to add on the universal GOP so I may need to reflash with that.

OP Needs to share. Sometimes the PCB contains usefull information and makes it easier to narrow it down ;)

Based what we know now. D00034 is listed in the orginal "stock" bios and the Asus bios which you tried is a C940 bios.

I think the real issue is not an incorrect Vbios, but rather their intended use of that GPU in a Mac.
"It causes issues with macOS so I'm hunting for a match."
That might need Bios editing to achieve.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

It's incompatible with macOS but using spoofed IDs makes it fail to work within Windows (code 43's me with no events) so I'm seeing if there's an identical retail board as these are usually based on other retail designs.

OP in that context is original post, not poster :p and I'll attach whenever I have the opportunity to (have yet to unpack since moving and my brother may have stolen my thermal paste tube)

Appears to be the same as this thread: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/envinda-rx-580-2048sp-8gb-no-image.322128/

Includes 3-photo close(r)-ups of each side if needed
GA13-V10 on the PCB is quite usefull information since it confirms you need a D00034 bios.
Did you try some of the RX570 bioses which are listed in that thread?

First and third both are fails, but second appears to be working for at least 2/3 ports and in macOS and Windows. Needs further testing for the extent of what does/doesn't work. Might have a match finally (I hope...)

I'll report back later. Thanks for the help :D

GPU acceleration works, including in games. Seems stable so far.

Posting this very late, but if you've stumbled upon this thread via Google and are also trying to find an RX 570 VBIOS for your RX 580 2048SP, here's what I learned:
  • Attempt a flash-based ID spoof first.
  • Back up your stock ROM.
  • Use ATIflash 2.93, since it's the latest version that supports force-flashing via the -f flag.
    • Go here, click "Show older versions", and click the download button below the version you want. The listings when you scroll down are missing the download button, for some reason.
  • Make sure you can get display output on your integrated GPU. If you cannot, you will need to be able to reflash blind, so make sure you can get a remote command prompt session from a cold boot, or learn to use Narrator to use command prompt.
  • Get some thermal paste and an electronics screwdriver, crack open the GPU, and get some photos of the motherboard.
    • Make sure you can read the small text on the paper labels and manually transcribe the text around the die just in case.
  • Note down the memory timings, type, and clock speeds on your GPU and use those to filter out guaranteed duds. Memory type, clock speeds, and timings must match to be compatible.
    • If it's a verified upload of a retail GPU, you can also see if that GPU came with your port configuration to filter out a few more.
  • Look up identifying text on your GPU, look for other threads trying to find working VBIOSes, and try any ones that would be compatible with yours.
  • As a last resort, use the "find compatible VBIOS" button on your GPU's stock VBIOS in the VBIOS collection, and edit the URL parameters by replacing 6fdf with 67df. Filter out and test any new ones you find.
