Which OS are you targeting? Windows 7 can't be the right OS.

Windows XP. There's no reason to use 7 on R580 and older because they're only DX9, not to mention the drivers don't work well past Vista.

Yeah, I'm dumb, CCC allows Ocing. Planning on installing Windows XP as dual boot when I get an X-Fi soundcard, installed Windows 7 64bit mainly for the 4GBs of RAM.

Regarding the soundcard, which one would be an era appropriate for a 2006/2007 PC? The Audigy 2 ZS or something else?

An Audigy 2 ZS or X-FI is appropriate, but that really depends on what games you playing. Very little games support EAX5.0 (X-Fi), what I can remember was Battlefield 2 and 2142. It sounds excellent in that games. Other game that support are usually EAX 2.0 to 4.0

Tried it and it works nicely. ATI CCC drivers do have clock control for X1950XTX but X800XL doesn't have it (maybe because it's an All-in-Wonder card?)

Audigy 2 is good, X-fi or SBZ would be good as well. Hack for XP and OG SBLive or fisrt gen Audigy would also be a good choice.

And there's your reason. The AIW cards have OCing locked out because of the TV Tuner & AV capture side of the card. This is because the timings have be perfectly in sync and OCing will throw them off. Very complex thing.

Like literally there is INSTALL.BAT 2 files on the left from the file you are trying to launch, which you can't on ...2086 pic. :banghead:

& if you want to add such drivers that way, then you can't launch them from explorer. You would have to go to Device manager, under listed device Properties & Search for drivers. :cool:

I used to watch LGR but lately I didn't, idk he feels somewhat smug about what he have now.

I love to watch much smaller Youtuber now, like FakeTek, for me he is funny and entertaining. But he no longer makes any videos, from his patreon he say he's quit. I found his channel from #GPUJune2 that PixelPipe made a couple of years ago.

A common thing in many youtubers when their channels grow, they do videos as a job, not as a hobby.

Still not saying that LGR sucks, but I admit that his videos aren't as entertaining as they used to be.
