How good is the Apevia 600W Gold 80 Plus power supply?

I don't see any test, but didn't dig much. Stick to the rule of being no professional review of PSU meaning no buying it. Or using if you want to play it safe. Even when there're some tests, man should be picky about how detailed they are and how reliable are sources they come from. As you can see, your Apevia doesn't even qualify to this stage what makes it absolute no go.

If there's no info online, man can only guess how "good" it is. On the other hand if it came with prebuilt and this pc is still during warranty period, it should cover any damage made by PSU. And if brand as big as Cyberpower puts them in computers, it's rather not that crap to be dangerous. So just stick to my rule when buying some and remember that ones not knowing much should be the last to try cutting corners due to not knowing what they save on or what pay premium for

yep i couldn't buy into any PSU without a reliable review for some added confidence... more-so for high performance builds. In the era of buying into pre-builts if there was one part that had me questioning the systems reliability it was the PSU... I had 2 KOs...a dell gaming build (although it did last for 5 years or so) and a used gaming+work pre-built picked up from a mate (~2 years, then marred). The second one peed me right off... and I haven't skimped on the tin of juice since (take maaa money).

I suppose that companies selling prebuilts, especially bigger ones, have some internal PSU testing in case of deciding what units to use in their computers. They want to cheap out, but rather also be sure it won't cause harm to their systems. Such safe, but garbage PSUs are just ones more likely, sooner to fail.

I bought this originally to use as an external GPU power source to use with a refurb OptiPlex build but when that turned out to have a bad mobo I re-used the supply in a build from the ground up with all new parts. This went into a budget CoolerMaster case. I'm driving a Gigabyte B550M DS3H AC mobo with a Ryzen 5 5600, and a Radeon RX 6650 XT GPU.
The supply powers this stuff with ease and the fan is generally whisper quiet. Under heavy load it blows more heat of course but keeps on running rock solid.
I like the PSU's braided cable covers and the general quality of all connectors, cables and components.
I have no complaints.

But that is not a token for reliability.

A somewhat detailed review, probably better if you know the native language. However, no UL, RU or legit looking FCC and CE markings either.

Taken from such review. If I read this right, this is a meager spec already. @dirtyferret , hope the Apevia is not too relaxed. :oops:

the andyson I believe is 5yr warranty, the apevia is 3yr so without being able to see the inside I would guess budget cuts to the fan and caps for starters

If needed I can recap and replace the fan.

I can also see two heatsinks, so it does not seem to match the Andyson H6 600W and is not modular; I also don't recall hearing any relay.

JG reviewed the PTR 800w and it was a H-6. Could Apevia swap out OEMs? Sure but it's not their platform to carry over so it would need to be labeled differently.

OK, I heeded the advice here and replaced the Apevia Prestige 600W with an EVGA 500W (OEM HEC) I had around, but only after installing two bridge rectifiers (there is room on the board) as one is not sufficient without a heatsink.
