Hello!
I recently got a new PC for the first time in many years (was using my laptop as a desktop computer with a monitor & peripherals for a long time) and I went with the 6750 XT which is a card that I think is serving me well, much more power than my old laptop which I upgraded from with a 4GB 3050 Ti.
I still have a 1080p 165hz monitor right now but in a couple of weeks when I get my pay I'm going to be getting a 1440p monitor. I've been testing the games I play with RSR to see how the GPU handles 1440p and for 90% of games it's absolutely fine, more intensive games like Alan Wake 2 require a little tweaking to get a nice high FPS, but still runs it very well.
The 6800 has been on sale at great prices recently (6750 XT was reduced to £275 and 6800 to £340) so has the 7700 XT. I was thinking about selling the 6750 XT and upgrading but I think I'm just suffering from FOMO. If I did sell the GPU and buy a 6800 or 7700 XT then I would lose about £150 on what is basically a brand new 6750 XT so then am I right in thinking it would be a false economy to do that, since I wouldn't really be getting such a great deal because of the hit to my wallet from selling my 6750 XT for which I bought a few months ago for even half of that I would be losing £150 and if you add that on to the price of a 6800 (£350 + £150) it would mean I really paid £500 for the 6800.
Would it make a lot more sense to go from the 6750 XT to something like the 7800 XT or 7900 GRE a bit later down the line? Is 6750 XT to 6800 a pretty pointless upgrade in the first place?
I apologise if I'm rambling, I have OCD and can get hung up on things like this.
