As we're getting close to the launch of AMD's 9000-series Ryzen processors, local retailers have already started to put the new CPUs up for pre-order and this gives us a first glimpse into the pricing we can expect. The first company to do so in Europe is Slovenian retailer Funtech, which has put up all four SKUs on its site. For those not familiar with European pricing, Slovenia has a VAT or sales tax rate of 22 percent, which obviously makes the pricing higher than in the US and some other countries. As Funtech also sells AMD's current CPUs, we can also get an idea of how much more the new CPUs will cost, at least compared to what the online retailer sells the equivalent 7000-series models for.

Starting from the bottom, the Ryzen 5 9600X goes for €310 (US$332) and the shop has the Ryzen 7 7600X up for sale at €212. The Ryzen 7 9700X goes for €400 (US$429), whereas the Ryzen 7 7700X is sold for €305. The Ryzen 9 9900X is listed at €500 (US$536) with the Ryzen 9 7900X at €392. Finally the Ryzen 9 9950X is listed at €660 (US$707), compared to €510 for the Ryzen 9 7950X. This is in line with earlier leaked pricing from the Philippines and with the VAT removed, we end up close to proposed MSRP pricing by various leakers over the past couple of months, or even somewhat lower. If anything, it doesn't look like AMD is going to increase the MSRP over the 7000-series of Ryzen processors.

Tsk. Europeans are basically being abused with this VAT. :')
In India we pay GST but even after that prices here are within 10% of US prices(pre sales tax)(though we dont get to see kind of discounts that US customers get). Everyone in the world pays some kind of sales tax.

Not really. But the conversation about that goes beyond the scope of TPU's tech mandate.

Please, stick to topic folks.

Much better than usual MO of AMD discounting their CPUs heavily couple of months down the line.

True and availability like the 3300X situation. Hate to see it when a product is priced well, but has like zero availability. Also when it finally does become more available the price is no longer very appealing with how much time has passed. Few more months and we can enjoy the next wave of "paper launches" of new hardware trickling out.

Usually europe has two sets of a vat. The lower ones for basic food and drinks, the higher ones for more luxury goods. ;) But aMSRP of 825€ isn't that cheap. I will have to think about which 16 Core i will get.

That's not MSRP, that's some scam by the shop to show how much you save vs. whatever price they dreamt up. Lots of shops do this.

Game developers/Store Fronts do various incantations and reiterations of that type of behavior with DLC's, Skins, and OST's. Plus a lot of the DLC is just stuff that they never put into the retail game because they sold it as EA initially and bites consumers in the rear quite often buying a partially completed product.

Month early really is early

I'm on bying around end of this year. Then the prices will be lower than now. No matter how much one could save at the beginning. My first estimate is that i will have to face the same prices than 6 month ago. So around 570€ incl. VAT.
Edit:
One more thing. Always calculate with the worst case. Here the MSRP. Then you won't get dissapointed. ;)

Yeah they do, i got my 7700x for $330 about a week or so after release.

So sell them asap to make some thing before the price drops. So if they can sucker in some pre pay people so be it, good on them :).

The advantage in nearly all use cases from these chips, over the last couple of generations is going to be close to zero...

More so in the likes of gaming unless you have a 4090 or something more powerful.

Im waiting for the indipendant review of the 9800X3D, then I will go buy that along with an X670 board and 32GB of some DDR5, am wondering if 6000 will still be sweet spot...

The rumours are at least not suggesting that something much faster would help. Might be 6200-6400.
