Judging from low res your desktop is, you still haven't install graphics driver by the look of it.

I will do thanks:) i see it is mx440 i have just gone to a driver data base and it said this insecure files could be tampered with, when trying to download it :(I thought it was odd that i could not change the screen reserlution size.I did get this last month at the local market,a Time PC which this motherboard comes from and it came with 3DFX VOODOO 3 2000 16 MB AGP VGA 3D GRAPHICS for £10.:clap:The case is in very good nick accept for a dent in the back on one of the corners:(.I understand this was a big make in the UK in the late 90.s.Certainly the best thing i have bought in the retro field even if i had paid £10 for the card let alone the motherboard and case the psu did not seem to work.I just downloaded Directx 6.1 i did download Directx 6 but it said it needed the 6.1 version hope it works.o_O

I am trying to instal directx6.1and it is raking forever o_Owill that work with my Voodoo card it says 6?o_O

I am confused 3dmark says it requires a directx 6 compatable 3d accelerator to work i all ready have Direct x7.1?What is a 3d accelerator. and where do i down load it? o_O

Voodoo 3 alone is worth 50€...so their loss!

Also, you might have issue with the Voodoo drivers. 3D accelerator is not recognized by either Device manager or by Direct X!

Good point Lex. Many of us don't think to mention that because it's just known & automatic for us old guys. But a newer vintage guy may not know that. Always need to be on SP4.
I had some games that liked Win98 or WinME that didn't like WinXP. Win2k was great for those. Need for Speed 5 - lookin @ u.

Really? I always used Windows 98 compatibility mode in XP and it worked fine.
It was also my Act-Labs steering wheel & pedals too. There was a hacked XP driver that was just okay, but never an official driver that worked 100%.

Talking about that, there is one story of me having Creative Avant Force NX steering wheel, I got it from my cousin when I wanted to download the driver I didn't see the product page in Creative page. I wrote one (properly sentenced) angry email to them and they give me access to their server to download all the relevant files lol. I 'practice' Colin McRae 04 before I'm taking my driving test that year hahaha. Its quite fun playing rally games with wheels, but of course nothing like driving for real.

I think it has service pack 4 ,i can,t check at present as i had to take the Sonyvio out of the case
DX6 runtimes also need to be installed.
Can you give me link for it? o_OThat ram for the Sony vio does not work with that Ram i bought on eBay, i did not know you had to use them with the Crimms. So even if thay did that would only give me 512 as you can only use two two sticks of real ram in there. They looked new i don,t know why they don,t work in there.I had to take the board out of the case. And it only works if both of the rams that came with it are instaled. You live and learn.Error codewhen both of them in there slots 13EO.

I think it has service pack 4 ,i can,t check at present as i had to take the Sony vio out of the case because the ram i got for it does.not work. :( 256 for XP sucks it would be more suited for 98se or ME i would have thought.:)

Your right i did not 68olds. Hows that cute little kitten of yours doing :)

When the Sony vio is in XP its the quietest PC i have ever owned i can,t even hear the ide hard drive o_O It ramps up before it gets in there though:)I would not mind putting it in another case ,it is a bit noisy in there. Why is it so quiteo_OI am hearing a slight nosie on 3dmatk 2000,It seems to be running well on 256 of ram.Not a good score but what do expect from the card it came with .

Why does 3dmark2000 run on the Sony when 3dmark99 does not? o_O And would it be posible to futureclone the Sony drive and have it on a better system would the Sony stuff work on another PC?o_OI have never had a PC where it ramps up then when the os has loaded its as quite as anything.o_O

That.s funny the Sony was doing Windows update o_O

All back together i think this looks pretty neat in there. :)On line with My Pal with one of thous cards i got the other week.I see that the PSU is Delta.:)Its a shame that ram did not work :(

RDRAM RDIMMs only came in 184pin varieties. 40ns = 40 nanoseconds.
I don,t know weather or not they WEREN'Tcompatible with my PC or not working they look new.
Did you make sure you had 4 total sticks installed and that they all were fully & properly seated?

Very excited and pleased with this pick-up, it's either brand spanking new, extremely lightly used or excellently refurbished, I can't find a spec of dust or any signs of wear and tear. Can't wait to test this in my retro rig against other close era cards, right at the birth of PCI Express. Let's go table fog!

Based on the FX5950 series NV38 but perofming more in line with the lower NV35 FX5900 series cards (hey at least it's 256-bit!) we have the;

Yes you have to use the two Crimms ,i tried quite a few times.
Does the nanoseconds make a difference.?I understand about RDRAM RDIMMs only came in 184pins ,but do they have different nanoseconds ?the ones i got were for HP

Did you Clear the CMOS (reset the BIOS) after changing RAM modules? A new set with different specs from the old set can cause boot problems without doing a BIOS reset.

Did you Clear the CMOS (reset the BIOS) after changing RAM modules? A new set with different specs from the old set can cause boot problems without doing a BIOS reset.
No .do you mean taking out the CMOS battery and putting it back in?Or do you mean with the old ram in there and changing settings in the menu? o_OCan you show me or point to a video.

What do i have to do in setting menu can you link to a video ?
