hey @b1k3rdude

I saw this information on TFT Central a while back so I thought I share it with you. Its still good that you are asking MSI directly just to be 100% sure, but if you click the 3rd link below you will see that TFT Central have this confirmed.
This panel uses the QD-OLED subpixel layout as Samsung's 1st gen QD-OLED. not their 2nd and 3rd gen layout (2nd and 3rd being the same layout I believe).

On the last link above if you scroll down to "QD-OLED Generation Confusion" they specifically mention what generation layout is used in the MSI MPG 341CQPX

Personally its not a deal breaker for me as I have first gen OLED but to you it might.
Hope this helps :)

Welp thats annoying, as text clarity IS a deal breaker for me, I tested the Alienware Aw3423DWF and the test was so bad it was like I was wearing glasses with the incorrect perscription. Untill there is a OS level s/w update for this I wont be converting to OLED anytime soon. And it looks like the 2nd/3rd gen OLED panels aren't much better, looking at the images from TFTCentral. I attached a shot of my LG monitor with a USB microscope for comparison.

@All, is anyone aware of any s/w efforts in Windows or Linux to address the new SP-layout issue...?

In the meantime I have asked MSI directly.
So the first reply from Msi was unsurprisinglyt, unhelpful - "monitor is RGB sub-pixel layout". So have asked for a photo, as Msi 1st line support are the brightest.

So Msi support replied, and colour me suprised at the typical poor & unhelpfull response. So am not holding my breath for a response that will include what I asked for...

Msi support were predicably a complete waste of space, so will have to wait for a indipendant review of the monitor.
