WASD key lag in demanding games (Warzone, Dead Island 2, Fortnite)

Hello,

I'm new to the PC world and have a problem I'd like to solve. When playing games that demand high CPU usage (around 50% or more, reaching peaks of 90% in games like Warzone, Dead Island 2, and Fortnite), I experience random lag on WASD keys. When you press them, they stay stuck for about 3 seconds.

This problem occurs intermittently and disappears if I limit the FPS to 60. However, if the FPS exceeds 100, the lag appears again. I have reinstalled the operating system about 10 times, both on Windows 10 and Windows 11, but the problem persists in both cases.

I would appreciate any help or advice you can give me to solve this problem. :(

Do you have any other peripherals connected to your computer and do you have the chipset drivers installed?

I notice you don't mention what keyboard it is that you are using but if multiple installs of windows 10 and 11 didn't fix it then it's a keyboard issue try another keyboard if that doesn't solve the problem then it's an USB issue

The strangest thing is that I use another USB port and it's the same. It's a great kb-115 keyboard

The Dell Chromebook one?

In my experience, the later 'cheapie' Dell OEM keyboards started having issues w/ key rollover and latency. The big ole Dell membrane KBs were fine tho.

edit: do you happen to have a PS/2 port on your mobo?

Passive USB-PS/2 adapters are cheap, and the PS/2 port should get hardware interrupts, directly connected to the mobo's I/O Controller.

Without actually using another keyboard you are never going to know whether it's the keyboard or a USB problem you also still haven't told what keyboard you are using for all we know it's some noname cheapo piece of junk. Which doesn't help us to help you at all
so please
1: What make/manufacturer and model of keyboard is it
2: Have you tried another keyboard yet
