I own the 27M2V (smaller panel but same number of dimming zones) and have been enjoying it. I have yet to calibrate it as I lack a colorimeter.

I noticed significant local dimming blooming when viewed off axis, most noticeable with things on a completely black background.

The HDR and SDR switching has been find for me. I use the Windows + alt + B shortcut to change between HDR and SDR. The monitor reacts accordingly, and turns off local dimming in SDR.

No, it isn't. 1.1k zones servicing 8MP+ means each zone services ~8,000 pixels, or 100x80 box. That may not seem like much, but 100 pixels is about the height of the Windows taskbar. Far to blocky for anything but the most casual HDR.

In my opinion, this is fine for general HDR. Only thing it would meaningfully struggle with would be things like very bright stars or sparks.

I agree. 100x80 box is way too big. That's like the size of the Start button.

A 25x20 box (~500 pixels) would be pretty nice.

The silver version of the 32M2V is 550 USD on US Amazon at the moment. The black one is 650 USD.

It's both funny and tragic - I can buy a 65" miniLED TV for the same price!!! 4K >120Hz PC monitors are ridiculously overpriced...

I use the same 27M2V and agree that there’s blooming when viewing off axis. But it’s not a problem for me because chances of me viewing off angle is low. Plus in games or movies, it is not so obvious. It’s only when the background is mostly dark will you notice it. Been using this for a year and a half, and I still like it. But with prices of OLED and mini LED monitors coming down, it may not offer the best value now. When I got it in Jan last year, it was 700 USD for the 27M2V, and was very well priced against other mini LED monitors with lesser dimming zones, and OLED monitors.

Fell for 4k at $300cad with an adjustable stand. Been using it now for over 4 years, haven't found anything to replace/upgrade it yet..............in the budget anyway...............

Yeah, even 950 from MSI, and it has been pretty much perfect from what im reading online. Tthe problem is... can any OLED monitor last 10-15 years? I even have monitors that are 20 years old. I use them everyday too, its not for show. I really wonder about that. When i say last, i mean can they do AT LEAST 10 years of no burn issues after normal use and some falling asleep during movies? If not, OLED monitors gotta become like 200-300 bucks or else i won't ever be interested in them. This is why id prefer to get mini LED monitor, even if it has some blooming, and its slower than OLEDs. Mini LED has good brightness too, and RGB pixels, so text looks amazing in 4K. Both has positives and negatives. I hate dirty screen effect too. Almost every OLED i have seen has it, i dunno why this is the case. At least from Samsung and LG. I saw a few Asus/MSI ones and they look mostly clean. I dunno who gives them the panels or if its just bad luck.

Yea yea, Mini LED has that effect too, same for any LCD screen. So far i have been lucky with mine.

P.s. I don't wanna buy a new display every 5-10 years, especially if they cost 950-1000, but even 500. I also don't buy new phones every year either. I'm sure consumer bots would love to buy a new screen every month tho lol.

Umm you don't need to worry about burn-in if you aren't just gaming. Not a snowball's chance in hell I'm getting OLED for productivity. But they are too dear. The BenQ Mobiuz EX321UX is $1199 and the Philips Evnia is around $970, but they offer more features, better calibration and the BenQ is a true 10 bit panel, so is actually a bargain in that field.

This is a china brand, who most of the time gets a hurray due to its price. Its cheaper than any known brand.
But warrenty is about 1 year and its possible it will never get any firmwaresupport. A long time ago spending about 1000$ was considered "highend" für working. And today you only get mainstream 4k displays. So most of the ppl who are ready to buy will go for oled, because oled seems to be the better choice (for gaming).

Yes, also as far as I can see, there is a very pronounced pixel graining. The individual pixels are large and clearly visible.

This is clearly a low-end offer, without DisplayPort 2.0 or 2.1, with those wide bezels. Ugly!

My LG curved 32" (Edit: 34") does not have an on/off switch and consumes 7W (edit: 0.7 Watts) when turned 'off'..
