Why future proof if your current psu is working? Just wait and see what the power behaviour of Blackwell is going to be. Who knows they could spike again like Ampere seeing as the TDPs are going up across the board again. Or there is another 12VHPWR fuckup. Never pre empt this stuff. Youll thank me later.

Well, here’s the problem and it’s my fault I didn’t state this in the post. My current PSU doesn’t support the 4070ti super. I upgraded from a 3060 TI. So for the time being, I just have a bunch of parts sitting around. I’m honestly just looking for a PSU I can get that will work well without coil wine, and support the 4070ti super.

So your psu has coil whine or the 4070ti does?

All power supplies assuming enough wattage will work fine with a 4070ti my old as shite evga/Corsair psu work fine with a 4090 with the adapter cable.

I have a 550 W PSU currently and I haven't even tried to run it with 4070ti. I just need to get a PSU that will work with it for a good price.

why those three? looks like you have a price in mind as opposed to performance?
Hi! I would like to future proof my psu if I decide to switch to 50 series.
sticking to something in the nvidia line up that's similar in power demand like the 4070ti? or higher demand?

an 850w unit would be more than enough for you and "future proof" you , here is a link to the best tested ones. Any of them will do the job

I recommend the Super Flower Leadex designs. Solid power supplies. If I were to buy something on this capacity range right now and money wasn't much of an object, I would be looking at the Leadex Titanium 850W SF-850F14HT

This doesn't have a native 12VHPWR cable, but you can buy the CableMod E-series from Amazon for $25. Works great.

If you're looking for native models. Seasonic's Vertex lineup and the ROG Thor Platinum II (this last one is particularly expensive, but it has a built-in screen with real-time load measurement) are top picks from me. PSU and motherboard are areas I never ever skimp, but there are more affordable solid models - and those are some you listed, the Corsair RM1000x is one of those. If that fits in your wallet and you don't particularly care for high performance/efficiency, just reliability, buy that and don't look back.

Thanks you for the help. Do you think the Focus Model will be the same as yours though? You sent the vertex model.

Honestly that looks good to me, for a good 1000W unit. It'll be pretty quiet as well, because of the massive overhead.

Seasonic Focus is still good (not ragging on the line as I have one in my gaming PC) but there are better units out there but maybe not for the price. I assume the OP is in the USA and we are looking at 115 input performance. I would start my search with ATX 3.0 units only and probably even focus on 3.1 units (even if hold up time spec may be lower). Out of the gate Super Flower, Cooler Master, and Channel Well have done a really good job with either of those specs at, especially 850w+. Seasonic has done well too but hardly the "untouchable" they and Corsair were pre ATX 3.0.

Super Flowers Leadex VII Platform in XG or Pro is tough to beat for pure performance
CWT CSZ platform sold by Thermaltake, Montech, XPG among others may the price - performance winner (from what I've seen the previous few months but I've not checked lately)

I was thinking mostly about that price, but yeah if $180 feels very close to $120 to the OP (and looking at the specs I'm thinking it does) there are better options for sure.

I'd prefer somthing with a native 12VHPWR socket but otherwise just get the best unit you can afford the psu is the most important component of any gaming PC and I'd say any pc period.

The corsair is rock solid but doesn't natively support a 12VHPWR cable otherwise fantastic though

@Brockoli just throwing this out there, most of Corsair PSU's are made by Seasonic as well, just giving you more options to ponder

actually most are made by CWT and like @oxrufiioxo stated the RMx was killer for performance & value pre ATX 3.0 but the since then there are better and more modern units

The one thing that would still make me consider them is their excellent support and them making cables that support new standards for their existing power supplies.

Their RMx 850 paired with their 2x8 to 1x 12VHPWR has been flawless in every build I've used it in powering 4090s with other companies you might have to look at 3rd party options if you want a nice braided cable like I had to with my Prime TX
