What is the best Lga1200 cpu for this board? 8 cores max? I read that all proccessors to this board only handle 3200? I then must overclock to reach higher speed? Which is the best cpu for that? I now have G.SKILL Trident Z Royal Series (Intel XMP) DDR4 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 4000MT/s CL18-22-22-42 1.40V Desktop Computer Memory UDIMM - Silver (F4-4000C18D-32GTRS).

Hello again. As for the CPU, the top of the range Lga 1200 compatible CPU is likely the Rocket Lake 11900K(f) which is an 8 core 16 thread CPU, the 11700K(f) is also an 8 core/16 thread CPU but with lower Turbo boost speeds. As for memory, XMP should work whatever the speeds.

i like the 10 core 10900k but that´s your choice if ya need more cores.

and this is from product page\everything over 3200mhz is overclock
2x DDR4 DIMM, dual PC4-44800U/DDR4-5600 (OC), max. 64GB (UDIMM)

this mainboard is made for overclocking with 2 dimm slots

Yeah, the only reason I went 11 series was for PCI-E 4.

I only got a Intel Core i5 11400F @ 2.60GHz. Rocket Lake 14nm Technology. It only can take 3200 and the memorys 4000mhz. It may be dangerous for a unclock able processor to overclock? Maybe a little? It surprises me that this board cannot take more memory then 64 and no more then 8 cores, when it is a extreme overclocking board, but to be fair 64gb or 8 cores it is not little.

In regards to your memory, have you tried selecting memory Gear 2 in the Bios and then selecting xmp for the memory to see if that might work? It only supports 64 because it's a fairly specific overclocking board and having lots of memory don't tend to overclock so well. If you go i9 or i7 you will need some fairly beefy cooling, you may be better to just get a 11600K(f).

In terms of overclocking, you have a locked multiplier CPU but you can increase the BClock from 100mhz to 102.5 but it has to be less than 103 otherwise it will crash. Your CPU Turbo boosts to 4400mhz on a multiplier of 44 so that BClock increase would give you around 100Mhz extra on both the stock speed and Turbo boost.

Thanks for the information. I will look at gear 2. I guess that takes a little extra cooling to change from 100 to 102,5. Thanks again for the information. It is in value for me. I am new to this with overclocking. Does a raise to 102,5 increase cpu life time much?

Is there also much difference in proccessor functions between mine and i7 or i9? I guess that this board cannot have a Xeon?

Not really, that is considered very mild overclocking, if your CPU voltage is on auto then it may adjust slightly, check before and after, it shouldn't cause much of a heat increase but if it does and your cooler is not up to it then you could try a small negative offset for the voltage.

Just saw you had just edited your post ........................ Not sure about a Xeon but an i7 or i9 would be much faster in the K versions, higher base clock, much higher turbo speeds and more cores/threads, there is a reason why at release the core i9 was at least 3 times more expensive than your CPU :)

I will look into it. The most motherboards and cpu works like old computers so they turn off auto if it gets to much heat?

If set to auto the CPU will get what it thinks it needs, if your cpu temps get to Tjunction MAX then it will be thermally throttled but it's best to avoid that if possible, as I said, if it happens you can set a negative offset voltage in your Bios that basically forces the CPU to take a little less voltage than it thinks it needs because in some cases it thinks it needs more than it does.

In essence, if you were to stress test without the BClk increase to 102.5mhz and your temps are good, the BClk increase should not make a significant difference to temps, maybe up to 5 degrees roughly but you have to tweak and test.

I tried and got it to 2.66ghz with 3200mhz memory speed. I also believe i did set it to 102. The temps was OK. I bought a Noctua NH-D12L 120mm cooler in Aug. So the temps will be more OK now. I had a cheap Cooler master before.

I have ⚡ bolt 4 on this board. What can i use it for? To charge the phone or Chromebook?

This will explain it in far more detail than I could.
