BIOS update for laptops?

I have TUF FX506HCB (i5 11400H, RTX 3050) laptops that has been BIOS modded to enable full settings, that could change to memory timings and such, reason why I modded the BIOS is because I can't use Throttlestop to change voltage but when I read in reddit, a user mention don't load or revert to BIOS default or that would disable voltage control and you need to reflash back the BIOS.

There is a new BIOS version (current is 308 while latest is 311), how important to you guys BIOS for laptops? There isn't any bugs with current BIOS, only thing is the GPU can only reach 60W limit while it should be able to take 75W dynamic max power but I have no idea why it can't do it, perhaps BIOS update can fix it? There is a VBIOS update but when I try to flash it just the same. I put the direct link toe VBIOS below

The VBIOS is integrated in your main motherboard laptop BIOS.
You can't just flash the VBIOS of your GPU because your GPU is a part of your motherboard.

On some laptops maybe? But not on recent RTX there is several RTX 3050 mobile VBIOS on TPU so how do you explain that?

The new BIOS is listed as optional and says it improves system performance. Maybe there is an ASUS hangout where you can ask other ASUS users how much the update helped.

If you unlocked the previous BIOS, why not just unlock this new one as well and then flash it? It's just using the AMI BIOS GUI program to unlock features, right? I assume.

Yeah I noticed it's an optional update. Various reddit post is mixed bag; some reported no changes, some reported something wrong with it (runs hotter), and some others reported some improvement (power saving features etc)

I didn't mod the BIOS myself. I ask someone in bios-mods forum to unlock it and he not only unlock it for me but also teach me how to flash part of the BIOS that flashable, he guide me step by step. I don't know if he still around tho.

Unless if you can look at the internal coding of the bios and compare your existing 1 to the new 1 and see if there is a higher power limit, I'd leave your current 1 in, if it aint broke don't fix it applies.

Well, I would try, but I don't have time... so try for yourself:

Download the new update, download AMIBCP which is a vendor tool leaked to the public by various sources, and see if the BIOS update opens in AMIBCP. If it does, follow guides on internet to unlock options for yourself.

Yes, it opens in AMIBCP.

Download the BIOS update, choose the extract option, navigate to the extract folder, rename 'FX506HCB.311' to 'FX506HCB.rom', download AMIBCP, open the .rom file.

Follow existing guides to unlock locked option menus.

Easiest method is, for the options you aren't seeing that you want to see, change Access/Use from Default to USER. That usually works. Depends on how tricky ASUS got.

Note: Making an option appear doesn't necessarily mean that it will function. Don't get carried away enabling everything, because a lot of things may be broken and do nothing. Start by messing with the stuff you care about messing with.

be happy with what you have and don't risk breaking what you already have.
