My Asus rtx 4080 tuf oc manual says it requires 3 separate pcie cables from psu to each of 3 pcie connectrs of my gpu and to use daisy chain. My psu only comes with teo pcie cables. But I have no idea which cable to buy. Any advice?

Check the manual that came with it, if it says three PCIe 8 pin (6+2) cables, you better contact the seller or Corsair to get what you paid for.

Be noted, there are different versions of this PSU, maybe also with different cable listings

Yup, the newer version only has two cables, but it also says three times an EPS/ATX 12V 8 pin (4+4) which I don't understand. I don't know any MB with three EPS connectors, two at most.

From my point of view it should be 3 x PCIe and 2 x EPS, but the only way to make sure is to contact Corsair support.

You can search specific cables on the Corsair site. They will tell you if it's compatible or not.

Corsair sells a 2x8pin to 12VHPWR cable, I'm not sure why you would buy anything else... Powers a 4090 easily will do just fine on a 4080.

I bought the Cooler Master because it's half the price and has a 90 degree connector, but I agree, you'd be best off using the Corsair

I avoid frequently returned items on Amazon, it's also never a good idea to mix cables from different power supply makers.

Honestly you must have got lucky it didn't kill your card/power supply.

Dude, I checked the pinout before I bought it.

Good for you, I'm glad it worked out.. Also glad you linked it for the OP to at least look at it.

Still wouldn't touch it personally but every person has to decide that for themselves.

It should run fine on two cables, using the pigtail of the second connector into the third socket.

Is this the cable I need?

Don't buy from a 3rd party, always go direct to the company for cables, in this case - Corsair

You have two options.

1/ If you going to use the patch cable that came with the GPU then you need this cable

2/ This cable will allow you to go direct from the PSU to the GPU thus doing away with the patch cable that came with the GPU.

So can I just directly connect one end to psu and the other end into one of 3 pcie ports on my gpu?

It should function like any other corsair cable

How does your GPU have 3 PCIe ports? A 4080 has a single 12VHWPR connector. The included adapter has 3 8-pin PCIe jacks.

Why are you making this hard ... ?

Examples for RTX 4090 - it's the same for an RTX 4080

Direct to the PSU with this cable below (Corsair's own cable), this option does away with the patch cable above that comes with the GPU.
