So I’m going with an EKWB EK-quantum momentum quad ram module set D-RGB water cooling block for my 4 sticks of Trident G.Skill Z5 DDR5 8000 and I’m unsure of what thickness thermal pad to use. I’m planning on ordering every part for this pc at once so I don’t have time to measure then order based off what’s on it now and there’s no media online specifying the thickness

it will be whatever EKWB says in the manual. in this case Thermal Pad G 1.0 mm (8 pcs).

But RIP 4x 8000. That sure isn't going to work.
Is 4x8000 too much? It’ll have its own small radiator and fan. Or is it a matter of strain on the other components? I’ll be running a i9- 13900k and XFX speedster 7900 xtx 24gb on a asus ROG strix z790-e. I’m looking to run 3 monitors and a TV for work, music, hardcore gaming and 3d rendering

Too much for the IMC. Doesn't matter the chip. Idk anyone who gotten close to 8000 with 4 DIMMs. It's hard enough to get 7200 2x dual-rank stable.

Maybe @Braegnok knows more and if it's even possible.

Those EK-RAM Monarch heatshields don't fully cover the ICs on DDR5 and they don't have the PMIC notch,.. they are intended for DDR4.

DDR5 heatshields will have a PMIC notch, and have min 26mm to fully cover the ICs. https://bartxstore.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Copper-RAM-Heatsinks-Assembly-Manual-rev-0.2.pdf

The Quad RAM Module set heatshields do look different then the older Monarch heatshields,.. the PDF does not show width mm of the sides covering the ICs.
It would be worth while to buy the kit and test it, personally I would only run two modules @ 8000MTs.

I would go with 2x24GB DDR5-8000 kit, or 2x48GB DDR5-6800 kit,.. and set-up the EK quad ram module set as a dual module solution, using two modules with the water block should work fine. :)

Memory QVL: Select CPU from the drop-down menu.
