I've never heard of Valkyrie and more competition is always welcome, even in a crowded market.

This isn't competition though, not even close. I was thinking it's a $40 cooler because it's similar in design to some of the competition at $30, but this has a bit more flair to it - mostly in the packaging which is going in the recycling bin, not into the PC.

At $70 it's a hard pass!

The single-tower design?

The fan resembles the terrible Thermalright TL-K12 used in the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO. Which should be changed with something better like the Blacknoise Noiseblocker eLoop B12-PS.

I wonder why Thermalright and Valkyrie copy each other, and use the pathetic turbine-like fan approach.

Even the regular Arctic BioniX P120 is better than those two.

BTW, I have the Blacknoise Noiseblocker eLoop B12-PS and it sits wonderfully on my TR PS 120 EVO.

I don't buy, literally too, Valkyrie's way: quite pricey; fancy packed to the point of absurd; only decently performing stuff.

Nowadays cooling market is top end performance cheaper than ever. So if company aims premium, it needs to offer more than ever. I don't think quality and long warranty would be enough. It needs promised support with mounting kits for future sockets, amazing aftersale service and refinement of products to degree cheap guys just can't offer, but what cooling enthusiast will notice and appreciate. It all make them in fact the only ones to buy such products, but they also happen to buy them frequently due to building computers for others. I don't see Valkyrie just being different resulting in selling well, but maybe it combined with aesthetics just works enough...

The tower is 5 cm wide, should be 400-500 grams. Hence, the extremely low performance.

It does seem that a disproportionate amount of effort (and presumably money) was spent on packaging and the unboxing experience for what is essentially an entry-level £20/$20/€20 120mm tower.

The TR BA120 is my go-to for single-tower coolers, and I skip the rainbow lights to save another £3:

Sure, the Valkyrie has an extra fan and some decorative plastic clipped onto it, but the thermal/acoustic performance results have it outperformed by single-fan solutions that make less noise, so I'm not sure the extra fan should even be considered for comparison.

The excellent TL-K12 fan in the TR PS 120 EVO are an improvement over the already decent fans in the class-leading PA120. They were good enough to merit both an Editor's Choice and Great Value award here on TPU, but other reviewers also gave it top marks (Hardware Canuks and THG to name a couple....)

As already pointed out, your suggestion of a eLoop B12-PS is silly because their cost grossly exceeds the complete TR coolers you're complaining about, but what I really want to know is why you're convinced that Noiseblocker eLoop fans are the best? There are precious few professional, controlled-testing reviews of them anywhere on the web - those that do exist are often just user reviews or forum posts, and even when the amateur vloggers cover them, the couple I skipped to the end of both complained that they're ineffective and noisy above 1250rpm or so and therefore best suited to low speed case airflow.

Am I missing something or is that an accurate summary from your experience? They do seem to lack review coverage and therefore don't have the plethora of awards that fans like the A12x25, T30, or SilentWings Pro 4 have each racked up....

"terrible"? It's award winning; The PS 120 EVO has multiple reviews showing that it has excellent noise-normalised performance. Is it the best fan on the market? No, but it's a very cheap fan that punches above its weight for the money, is comparable in noise to more expensive fans when matching CFM or RPM.

and you still haven't explained why you're plugging the expensive Noiseblocker eLoop over any of the award-winning fans that actually have reviews.

Maybe I'm intentionally questioning someone who reliably makes comments, claims, and suggestions on this site that directly contradict the reviews published on this site because poking the bear is a pastime of mine and I enjoy watching just how deep the holes get dug.

If TPU could get their hands on the Valkyrie GL36-AMG 360mm AIO and review it I would be very grateful. I'm really interested in how this thing performs, mainly due to the 38mm thick radiator and push-pull fans.
