Hello, im using my 1080p monitor with dldsr 2.25x - 1620p. When i try to use nvidia fg game graphics showing weird behavior like vibrating then i switch dldsr 1.78x - 1440p everything is fine as you can see the video. Fps number is close also resolution is close too. 1440p dlss q 960p 1620p dlss balanced is 952p. Whats wrong with that? For more the be clear you can watch the video below the link with 0.5x speed. https://streamable.com/sr5cqy

Edit: Its not only for Hellblade 2, alan wake 2, a plague tale requiem is also have same problem.

@maxus24 will there be an upscaling comparison for this title?

Holy hell the visuals are next level. I did however disable chromatic abberation and film grain, despite the artists intensions.

Especially on an ultrawide Oled it's insane and DLAA is amazing. The Xbox series X holds up pretty well also in this game but only 30fps with heavy upscaling. The series S looks pretty downgraded though. The only nitpic I have is the UE5 lumen reflections suck and even though they are not as bad as SSR it would have really benefited from hardware lumen instead of the software crap.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I prefer the visuals with the effects that soften the rendering...this is so sharp that it's uncanny, even the latest movies in 4K don't look so sharp...

To be fair that's photo mode, focused on the face with reduced depth of field, in engine cutscenes do get close to the face but the depth of field and focal points make it considerably more natural than that shot I took.

In game is a lot more natural too, heres a couple of screenshots. Absurd level of detail and realism, in motion its crazy. The animation of people in cutscenes is just insane; it feels like they somehow transposed live-action performances directly into the game. No doubt in my mind this game has the best visuals to date, it all comes together so damn well. This is one hell of a audio visual experience.

the peach fuzz facial hair.

The calcium lines of the lower teeth

The depth of the skin against the water running down her face.

The red eye outline.

I could keep going on, but it's absolutely wild.

Have you been playing it too? It's unbelievable to me the character rendering, especially dialogue/in-engine cutscenes, but the whole thing just pops so damn hard, feeling so natural, rich and alive. I knew the game would look good, but I wasn't prepared for the end result, it really is next level.

Yes and it really is. I was a big fan of the first.

Wizard, I'd like to propose a change for the VRAM charts.

The bottom third, you listed VRAM usage at High settings, per resolution, plus DLSS3 Frame Gen.

I would argue this metric is flawed. Nobody playing at native resolution, with or without Frame Gen, is going to use the built-in in TAA solution. Everyone will use DLAA / FRSAA / XeSS native instead. This will always use more VRAM that just TAA/TSR at 100% rez scale.

Therefore, I believe the VRAM numbers for native rez + Frame Gen are under representing real life numbers.

A walking sim tech demo. They just love making these for consoles.
The bad news is that Hellblade II brings even high end hardware to its knees.

The good news is that there's no gameplay to speak of, and therefore a cinematic 24 FPS feels perfectly appropriate, lol.

I still think AC Unity is one of the better looking actual games out there, and it came out 10 years ago. Cyberpunk's probably still the champ in terms of actual games with highly impressive tech. To its credit, Cyberpunk also scales extremely well--it offers enough bells and whistles to cripple a 4090, but you can also run it, very ugly, on a toaster oven. I'm glad to see UE5 finally pushing worthwhile visual advancements, but I still have yet to see evidence that AAA studios are able/willing to deliver good games that are also technically impressive enough to justify investment in next-gen or even current-gen hardware.

Maybe I'm just getting old, but it feels like I could run everything worth playing on cards released 8 years ago. Of course, some of that feeling is an unavoidable--the newest wave of video games comprises a smaller and smaller proportion of the cumulative total of all video games, to which the average PC has effortless and near-comprehensive access. Your next GPU will only be able to play a couple dozen games that your last GPU couldn't. From that perspective, the newest gaming hardware will always provide a diminishing marginal return. Hopefully the industry finds a way to justify the increasingly hollow-sounding hype for the Next Big Thing.

A nice Unreal Engine 5 technology demo, basic walking simulator. What a shame, especially the potential of this game's story... Really disappointing:
"Summary of this game: Walk, walk, fight some warriors, walk, walk, fight some creatures and all of them are covered by visual effects. This game is boring. If this game has dynamic story chart or mechanic, that would be absolutely great, like Detroit Become Human. Forget all them, this game has NO mechanic, same animations, similar enemies. This is not a game, this just a physiological film or just a standart Unreal Engine 4 demo. The level desingns and visual effects are really good but that's all. Really disappointing for this game's art style. They were right that this game is walking simulator." This was my Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice comment, so Hellblade 2 doesn't different from this.
