AMD has released its latest version of AMD Software Adrenalin drivers, version 24.8.1 WHQL. The latest drivers update adds game optimizations for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Open Beta, Concord, FINAL FANTASY XVI, and Star Wars Outlaws, as well as expands HYPR-Tune support. It also adds Anti-Lag 2 support for Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR'S CUT and adds support and optimizations for Amuse 2.1 with FLUX.1 model on select Radeon, Radeon PRO and Ryzen AI series products.

AMD also fixed several issues seen with previous drivers, including intermittent application crash or driver timeout in Black Myth: Wukong, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess on some Radeon RX 6600 and 6700 series GPUs, and Pacific Drive or KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX-. It also fixes artifacts in games like Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales or Rust, improves "Optimizing Shaders" time when launching Forza Motorsport, and fixes issues with Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering settings for some OpenGL applications. There are also several known issues, and AMD also issued an important note that it is working with the developers of Star Wars Outlaws to address an intermittent corruption issue that occurs after changing certain in-game graphics settings, which can now be resolved by relaunching the game.

New Game Support
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Open Beta
  • Concord
  • FINAL FANTASY XVI
  • Star Wars Outlaws

Expanded HYPR-Tune Support
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III
  • Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered
  • Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales

AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2 Support for Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR'S CUT
  • Takes responsive gaming to the next level by introducing an in-game option to optimally pace frames, further reducing input lag on AMD RDNA architecture-based discrete and integrated graphics products.
    • Get a decrease in latency in Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR'S CUT at 4K "Very High" settings of up to 28% when using AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 with frame generation with AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2 compared to using it without AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2 on the AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT graphics card. RS-669
    • Users looking for a way to measure response time can use our Frame Latency Meter (FLM) or the built-in latency monitor in AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2.
  • Check out our new blog HERE to learn about the benefits of Anti-Lag 2 and how to monitor your latency.

AI on Radeon
Support and optimizations for the latest 2.1 version of Amuse application with FLUX.1 model support.
  • Amuse 2.1 is supported on
    • Radeon 7000 Series
    • Ryzen AI 300, 8040 & 7040 Series
  • FLUX.1 model is supported on
    • Radeon RX 7900 series, AMD Radeon PRO W7900 and AMD Radeon PRO W7800 graphics cards.
    • Minimum 32 GB system RAM required.

Fixed Issues and Improvements
  • Intermittent application crash or driver timeout may occur while playing Black Myth: Wukong.
  • Intermittent application crash may occur while playing Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess on some Radeon RX 6600 and 6700 series GPUs.
  • Intermittent application crash or driver timeout may occur while launching Pacific Drive or KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX.
  • Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering settings from AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition may fail to correctly apply for OpenGL applications.
  • Artifacts may appear while playing certain games such as Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales or Rust.
  • Increased memory usage may be observed while playing certain versions of Minecraft Java Edition.
  • Improved "Optimizing Shaders" time when initially launching Forza Motorsport.

Known Issues
  • Overly dark shadows or desaturated colors may be observed while playing Black Myth: Wukong when Global Illumination is to Medium or higher. Users experiencing this issue may set Global Illumination to Low as a temporary workaround. [Resolution targeted for 24.9.1]
  • Audio and video may intermittently become out of sync while recording using the AV1 codec in AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition. [Resolution targeted for 24.9.2]

Important Notes
  • AMD is working with the developers of Star Wars Outlaws to address an intermittent corruption issue that occurs after changing certain in-game graphics settings. As a temporary measure, users experiencing this issue may need to relaunch the game.

Finally, TPU has managed to fix the release/news issues, seen in the recent few weeks.
The other article was a false positive / fake news https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/amd-software-adrenalin-24-8-1-whql-released.325754/ , only two hours ago videocardz posted a news article about the new 24.8.1 release.

I will try to skip it, as it is seen from the release notes that more versions are planned for September, which is just three days away, anyway.

Oh, so maybe that's why I couldn't get any output with the previous driver? Gonna test the new one.

EDIT
Can confirm that the latest driver works with the FLUX.1 model. Dang, is this one heavy on the resources! Needs more than 24 GB VRAM and more than 48 GB RAM for any serious work. But the results are mighty impressive o_O

Why do AMD's driver releases always coincide with the monthly M$ updates?

Just installed them for some of my Ryzen iGPUs... The installer still ignores the language settings of both Windows 10 and 11. Instead, it seems to choose the language for AMD Adrenalin from the geolocation of your PC. :banghead:

Turn the location off.
Install the driver offline.

Yeah, one shouldn't have to do that...

It's not that I get a language, I don't understand. However, people typically want a different language for a reason. Not everyone might be native to that place where they use their PC. Especially, over here in Europe, where people from different national backgrounds tend to move between countries in the single-market.
Personally, I find it quite intrusive and arrogant that the manufacturer of my CPU thinks they know better than me what language I should use for their software. No wonder, AMD's drivers are perceived as a laughingstock.

Installed these and working good.

Amuse 2.1 does seem alittle faster than on 24.7.1 drivers.

Wait, so no optimization for BM Wukong? Shouldn't AMD be focusing on optimizing their driver the biggest game on PC, and prolly across other platforms (platform without the 's' for now, since only PS5 has it, XBOX is a no go, a missed opportunity for MS). It's sold prolly well clear of 10 million by now (judging how PS5 and PC parts are being scalped here in the East just for this game) so I dunno why AMD is NOT putting in the work on it....meanwhile, it's focused optimizations for SW Outlaws?

It's funny, because Wukong was listed in the original release notes, before pulling 24.8.1. And there's a listing for fixes (and another one for known issues).

I did initially experienced crashes, but strangely, it was only with the built-in benchmark, that's why I'd started a few days after everyone else. The game itself runs just fine 24.10.37.04, but I was hoping for more optimization for better framerate so I can run at 'Cinematic' with improved framerate. Right now, I have it at 'Very High'....

I just got an email earlier today saying 24.8.1 is released, currently i'm on an Nvidia based system so not downloading it, but might on one of my other systems.

Yes. Also Concord, the biggest flop of the year by the looks of it.

There's no bug fix or new game support that interests me with this driver release, so I'll wait for the next one, which will hopefully contain optimisations for W40k: SM2 as well.

Personally, I don't think so. Like most things IT, it has been blown out of proportion by the media and some always angry gamers. That's why I don't bother installing every driver update unless they offer something significant over the last one.

What game optimisations?
If you mean disabling the virtualisation in BIOS, then yes, it uplifts the performance.

Check the topic dude.

He means driver optimizations. No one is talking about virtualization in here.

He means driver optimizations.

If so, absolute nonsense. How don't game optimisations work, when the driver release notes state particular figures in % of how much the framerate is higher? :kookoo:

On another vendor's GPU, I got 62fps in the non-optimized driver for Wukong and 66fps with the game ready drivers and same settings. Meaningful? Maybe not. But appreciated.
