Yeh no wonder I've switched back to Intel in 2022, anything AMD in my country is actually overpriced and they also kind of exited the budget market so when I've picked up a 12100F at the time AMD had literally nothing on the market to compete with that. 'both performance and price wise'
AM 5 and their mobos nowadays, yeah forget about it its still a nope for users like me. 'heck even a 5700-5800X3D is way too expensive for AM 4'
Funny cause it used to be the other way around, AMD for budget low cost users and Intel for the 'rich'. 'I've had more AMD CPUs in the past than Intel for that very reason'

Btw that bundled Asus mobo on its own is 230$ where I live so theres that.. 'and no we don't have bundle prices like that at all'

They will have a very limited number of these as they will be defective CPUs, if they want to make more of them they would have to disable cores on 7800x3d chips.

Some think the 7900X3D sells so poorly they can just disable the one CCD and sell those as a 7600X3D. 7800X3D is the top selling CPU for the last year, it'd be bad biz to cripple ones that are not defective.

I'm sick of seeing Micocenter exclusive sales advertised everywhere because only a small percentage of people have access to one of their locations. If you have access to a Microcenter and you're an enthusiast of literally anything that plugs into a PC your default move would be to check there first anyways.

Make friends? Back when Threadripper 3 was rare I procured one from a MC across the country thru a forum member.

And another thing, there used to be more MC's across the US but a lot closed down cuz there wasn't enough patronage lol.

It seems like it is gaining momentum again. They are planning more stores now that Miami is running. Maybe they are doing better analytics on where they will be successful than previously?

But yeah, I got my 5600X3D from an absolute legend of a member here. I got a NIB 7800X3D from a legend on another forum for$240 shipped. If you are in the states just make a wanted to buy thread for the7600X3D when the time comes (if you want one) and wait. Some legend will hook you up for their cost including shipping. It won't make sense until the price drops because the 8 core has gone for not much more than $300 shipped on sale before. And the holidays are coming.

300 usd is too expensive, $199 maximum and no more.
Black Friday price. You heard it here first.

There are a lot of salty folks here, but this time I understand it. If this bad boy is still around during Black Friday sales...I guess I'm upgrading my son's 5600X3D.

I wasn't that legendary person, but I will do the same if I buy one in November.

"Can't afford a 7800X3D? - Don't worry! Now there's a cut-down cheaper version that comes with a mandatory purchase of an overstocked motherboard nobody can sell because it's a bloody rip-off"

Seriously, 7600X3D would be fine with a $99 board and TUF boards are overpriced by 50% even if we're being generous.

It's still an okay deal but you're not "saving" $180 on the bundle because that motherboard is overpriced by at least $80 and it wouldn't be the first choice of board for this CPU in the first place.

I suspect they keep the 7900x3d price high for the same reason, it's a limited supply as it needs defective silicone so selling them faster doesn't help.

Limited to Microcenter you say?

The yields of the 7800x3d must be pretty good seeing how there's not enough 7600x3d processors to go around. This time however, why did they not cut an exclusive deal with Mindfactory? Kind of shake things up a little bit and show those AMD loyalist in Germany a little love.

we didn't see the lower-end zen 3 x3d chips on am4 until zen 4 was out for a while, they probably waited for server demand to move to zen4 to free up zen 3 capacity for desktop. thats why they are pumping out more zen 3 desktop chips now because they don't need them in servers.

I doubt releasing this CPU has anything to do with ideology. AMD has bottom bin chips and shareholders need to get paid. It's just business and MC is just a supply chain partner to move product. Plenty of sales workers willing to polish turds for cash.

Let me give you another reason to hate that we don't live near an MC. You can return the board and ram and keep the CPU at the bundle price. MC is cool like that, as the guy I bought my 7800X3D from did it. If you look in the hot deals forum you can see the 7800X3D was under $200 when bundled. If the 7600X3D does not sell well, I expect there will be a sick deal on it too.

The thing is, this isn't even 'America' first. It's a mutual corporate jerk off between AMD and Microcenter.

If this was 'America First', AMD could have put it up for sale on their existing US online store where they sell their other CPUs and GPUs and only offered (US) domestic shipping.

I get it man.

I dont have a MC in my country lol. Would be neat if they went with Newegg or Amazon..

But a 6 core X3D part that runs at the same power limits as an 8 core.. are you really missing anything?

Exactly - I mean if was like $100 less than the 7800X3D I could kind of see it, but there's really no reason to not get the 7800 if you're gaming. The price difference is like the cost of one game.

I was just on Microcenter's site the other day, and if my memory's accurate, the 7800x3d was $360 then. I could swear the price was even lower a few weeks ago. Now it's $380, lol. I don't know whether the 7800x3d's wandering price tag is designed to make the 6-core variant more attractive, or whether it's part of a more general response to Zen 5's poor sales' figures, but either way it's disappointing.

If it sells anything like the 5600X3D did, it should still be mostly available in all MC stores for upwards of 6+ months after it releases. If that's the case you can expect the prices to come down more from where they are now. The 5600 model started at $229 or $239 and by the time they sat around long enough they were priced down to $189 - if memory serves me right.

The 9xxxX3D are to come out in 4-6 months. If the 7600X3D sits on the shelves that long you can expect the prices to drop a good $30-50 to help move them.

They'll eventually sell, just like the 5600X3D did.

Very AMD thing to do as of late. Take what could be a win and shite all over it.

I'm by a microcenter but man these retailer exclusives are crap. This only being a good option for new builders also crap.
I remember they did this with a previous chip 2 or 3 years back as well, some kind of store/region exclusive nonsense.
