Hi so having issues with PC restarting when booting games after I did a fresh install of windows because I was selling the PC to a buddy. Updated BIOS all drivers and chipset tested ram. Only thing notice is the 3.3v drops to 2.96v and never actually gets to 3.3v highest it gets is 3.0v, also might be a stupid question but after my buddy picked it up he realized he forgot the power cord so he is using his from his really old omen PC that had a 450watt power supply.

Asus prime x650 pro wifi
Ryzen 5 7600x
Asus tuf 3070 OC
32gb ddr5
850watt corsair PSU
1tb firecuda NVME SSD

That rail is bad, 3.3 minimum is 3.135

Also is that 4.68V supposed to be a 5V Rail? If it is suppised to be a 5V rail then it is underperforming as well.

Get the correct cord for the power supply first and try again the 450 i doubt has the right gauge to support 850+

I noticed it'll sit at 3.05 and fluctuate but once a games is booted it goes to 2.96 and reboots

It's bad, try swapping to the cord designed for the 850 power supply, if it doesnt fix, replace the power supply.

The cord shouldn't make any difference, even the 12V rail is low.

It can due to gauge of wire, the 12v is still within atx spec of 5%

Tried brand new cord didn't make a difference won't go above 3.0v at all so going to buy a new PSU and see if it fixes the issue.. just in case you guys have any other ideas if the voltage doesn't change after a new PSU?

So looking at that picture, psu is likely failing, with voltage that under spec. All voltage that far under what machine is expecting is probably why. Windows logs might even give an error that points to that. 5volt rail being 4.6 a bit low. If that is desktop low usage it probably fine but as you said when you load a game or my bet is anything that puts a load on cpu or gpu probably cause restart cause voltage will drop even more.
as for the buddy forgot power cable as in from wall to PSU that cable doesn't matter so much all them are overbuilt for what machine draw's.

Since im assuming he doesnt sit behind you and this system likely traveled, has he reseated everything? Power connectors to and from the board. Reseat the GPU?

Ended up being the 24 pin wire went bad I guess tried the new one from new PSU on the old and voltage is good. No crash as of yet

If that continues after reseating, change motherboards

Ok well I hope it doesn't come back, maybe you can order a cable for the old psu so you can take the new 1 back.
