During a recent earnings call, Co-CEO of CD Projekt Red (CDPR) Michal Nowakowski confirmed that thanks to the success of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the development team will be looking at further animation projects.
"[The developer is] definitely planning to do more in terms of animation," says Nowakowski (on Gizmodo). "Expect to see more for sure, but that's as far as I can go right now."

Considering the fact that upcoming projects, The Witcher 4 (given the codename "Polaris") and Cyberpunk 2 (given the codename "Orion") are massive projects which would definitely take a lot of resources and focus, it will probably take a while to finish the animated series. But then again, considering the fact that CDPR will likely play a supervisory role for any project undertaken, a new animated series might not take a huge amount of time.

Edgerunners was released around the same time as a major Cyberpunk 2077 update, which was a great way to tell the players to give Cyberpunk 2077 a second chance, and as we all know, the anime turned out to be a very good one. If CD Projekt Red has another insane anime like Edgerunners under their sleeves, they'll probably keep it cooking till it's ready to generate a lot of hype for another release.

Edgerunners, the anime that CDPR released at that time was really successful, to the extent that it pushed CDPR to "the best third quarter in our entire history," according to the chief financial officer, Piort Nielubowicz. "With consolidated revenues at zł246 million ($54.3 million), mostly owing to strong sales of Cyberpunk. The group posted zł99 million ($21.8 million) in net profit."

That's not surprising as the anime was undoubtedly splendid. Even if the anime had a million episodes, there's no doubt, many of us would definitely watch it to the end.

I don't think I can. I tried with One Piece and couldn't get past episode 1000. My brain just couldn't handle it. o_O

Edgerunners was great, would be an excellent swan song if they release 1 final series for the end of the original cyberpunk 2077 game before they release a new game along with a final DLC. (not going to happen, but one can huff copium (hopeium?) now and again lol)

The art direction for one piece is really schizophrenic. I guess it isn't too surprising with so many episodes. Edgerunners were pretty solid story and art. It was better than I had really anticipated.

I probably wouldn't have dropped One Piece if the whole Wano Country arc lasted 50 episodes instead of the 191 they squeezed out of 149 manga chapters. They streched it until it broke . . . me.

And here's Shueisha for you:
Due to his rigorous work schedule, Oda lives apart from his wife and daughters, receiving visits from them roughly once per week.

One Piece is a master class in pointless dragging things out, practically tells the same story with slight tweaks within itself over and over. My unpopular opinion is people who like one piece are getting trolled and don't even realize it.

Agreed.

Having a long series is one thing (I can't imagine LoGH and Monster being shorter are they're both incredible) but when the news articles read "One Piece reaches 'milestone' Episode 1000", I remembered Japan's lifetime employment culture and figured they were padding their grandchildren's trust funds.
