TPU's Nostalgic Hardware Club

I can't see a reason why it shouldn't. Those CF to IDE adapters just adapt the IDE connector to CF because CF cards already use PATA as a transfer standard. It's a bit like how NVME to PCIe expansion cards don't have any circuitry; they just adapt the PCIe slot to an NVMe slot.
Yeah, the main purpose for those IDE-CF adapters is to provide power to the card.

Plenty of people uses IDE to CF adapter already on their retro gaming PC

Also those are pretty damn handy when transferring data for that purpose, instead of goofing around with USB drives or CDs etc.

Man, I can't even remember when I burned a RW the last time, probably in the late 2000s (both CD-RW and DVD-RW)...

Thanks. I learned something new today as I didn't know that CF cards used the Pata protocol.

Here's my Pentium 4 ES 2.2GHz actually running in a system. The Intel D850 chipset doesn't like it & its BIOS doesn't have a multiplier adjustment. It defaults to 1.9GHz & CPUz thinks it's a Celeron. lol
I ran this in my Abit mobos (AI7, IC7-g) years ago and both allowed me to set the 22 multi and raise the FSB enough to get somewhere around 3.0 to 3.2 GHz in the past.

I think they are telling us to set up two factor authentication or else.
They also want an alternate email (like a gmail address) for the 2FA.

Another card for me collection. After finding a V3 2000 in a random retro build (w/ a 533MHz Celery), a Riva TNT2 Pro is just right.

Microsoft Account: Uses two-step verification, where you receive a code via SMS or authenticator app, which you must enter along with your password.
It is a pain for me,I have had this account for 18 years thats longer than i have had a PC.I must admit i have a very weak password on here not 1234 or anything like that.

I have my primary email as recovery. Haven't set up the two-step verification as that old msn email was mostly my messenger account so it's not that important anyway.

I still remember when I though that "I'm not going to get my main email full of spam and other shit", now my phone shows that I have 33.1k unread. Cleaned a similar amount twice through the years.

I've been watching this channel for a while and today he showed a CPU that I've never seen or ever heard of(that I can remember).
For the right price, this CPU would have been a very attractive upgrade for a 386 based system.
I have one of those CPUs in my oldest PC except it's clocked at 33 Mhz. What's really strange is that the computer's BIOS reports it as a 486DX which it clearly isn't. It can't run Descent well, though; you have to set the screen size to the lowest and it's still barely playable.

I guess that it's "enough 486" for the BIOS to report it as such.

Did you guys have a 750 Ti? I had one only for a while as a backup back in 2017 when I sold my 970 SLI setup and I got the 750 Ti from my friend.

I have a Quadro card that performs near to a 750ti. It's kinda inbetween a 750 and a 750ti. It's a great Windows XP card.
I remember people saying that 750 Ti is like a GTX 570 but with a fraction of the power consumption. To be honest, I never fact-checked that, but sounds reasonable.

About 570, need to inspect mine as at least with my Phenom II PC, it was stuck at 2D clocks. :/

Two of my recent recaps.

EDIT: I just realized that the trio's third member, the MS-6168 w/ V3 2000 8MB, makes an cameo appearance in the 6163's POST screen photo. (look to the bottom left)

Does anyone know if it's possible to dual boot ms dos 6 and windows 98? I have read that I would need to have an FAT16 partition for DOS.
