Now the GPU's are getting into that club!! If I recall correctly, when I was extreme cooling I was using SLI 7870's, think I was lucky to get around 800 MHz. lol

Lol, no lies!! I think my 4070 Super boosts over 3ghz. Quite impressive. Last card I fired up was a 9600 with a whopping 256mb of Vram!! And that was decent gaming 800x600 resolutions haha.

Thermal paste pressure injection into contact area between fins and heat pipes and 2.2 cm of additional fins

This was a repeated step (several times) to allow heat-cycling and dispersion of TIM. No thermal paste exited the channel, so there is no loose TIM between fins. What you are seeing is the tip most fins, before the clean up and cap plate is mounted.

These protype heatsinks have been converted, the base plate is nickel covered copper and the contact area is the full 9684x area.

added more fins, now completely meeting full 120mm fan coverage

4090s mounted inverted so that warm air is blown away from CPUs and motherboard:

then had to make my own replacement for the cheesy factory gigabit lan heatsink aluminum with a greater surface area, color matched, copper to drop the tempos on that chip 30C

acid bath to increase porosity / surface area, followed by (also reacts with copper):

final

total results:

complete air cooled 9684x dual with dual 4090s

runs cool and quiet

Well, since I moved my 'puter out into deep space, there is no need for any cooling whatsoever....it stays a frosty -2,188.7463c most of the time, except when a passing asteroid or meteor causes a momentary jump to just above absolute zero, but it cools back down as soon as that event is over....

My mini-me box only needs/has 1x 80mm fan, so I won't bother disassembling it just to take & post pics of it.....

My son's gamin rig OTOH, is a blinding mix of 8x pukerfester fans & 2x AIO coolers, but he won't let me hang out in his man-cave long enough to snap any pics

All I've got is a bunch of boring NH-D14 and NH-D15 coolers, plus numerous Thermaltakes, not worth uploading.

Intead, here are a couple of water cooled servers.

The first might be dissipating 2kW (4 x 500W processors). Note the inlet and outlet water pipes at the rear.

And here we have a total immersion system in a data centre.

I'm rocking a Rocketfish (lian li) case from the mid-2000's, really need to update that thing. lol

I guess while I am here I can post an update with mine.. nothing fancy just ditched the Hyper M.2 setup in favor for something a little more.. traditional..

The basement fans are indeed outside of the case..

So this is the sensor panel I use. Has been rock solid for me and I bought it about 6 months ago, no issues yet. Hope it stays that way. Oh man your build takes me back to the earlier days. I had a few similar builds myself. No fancy RGB or anything, just some soft tubing, a pump wherever it fit, and a rad where you could mount it, and if you couldn't mount it, put it outside the case haha. Love it!

Thank you! Funny, I only bought this card because it was the only one I was able to find for MSRP when they were selling for $1000 over MSRP. I wasn't about to pay $2600 for one. Glad I got it, sure some have nicer lighting but this does the job. Your build is hella clean, always love it every time I see it.
