It may be the greatest PC game review I've ever read not because of the game, scored a 79, but because the reviewer was able to get it working on eight year old hardware. She should write an article just on that!

What is it? An action-RPG in the long-running Final Fantasy series, featuring punch-ups between gods.

I'm going to assume this was in error. She or another editor will probably update that at a later date.

I get the impression that game reviewers are oblivious to technical issue most of them don't report on any of them I doubt the game performed very well
PCgamer at times will report on technical issues the game reviewer sees. I believe the Dragon Dogma 2 was one such review although not sure if every reviewer does so.

I checked one of her previous reviews (some farmville style game) and it was done on a laptop with integrated graphics as well. Like I said, make a story on getting new games to work on old hardware.

My opinion of game journos is extremely low, to say the least. This has-been rag's included. The "reviewer" probably didn't know what a graphics card is and asked ChatGPT what graphics did the 7700 have.

I completed the main quest last night. Game did not crash once, although performance is wobbly in a few areas. I enjoyed the game, although I wanted to see a different ending.

I appreciate them. They get paid crap & have to push through a grind to play the game. No one needs to take their review as the "end all be all" and they are more reliable than the review bombs too many games get now a days.

While I don't have an opinion for or against them I haven't read or looked at a game review in probably over a half decade. Just like movies it's way too subjective. I use to like eurogamers reviews but that was ages ago.

I do kinda miss the days when the internet wasn't really a thing and I'd go to my local magazine store just to get the 411 on the latest games... Good times!!!

yeah gameinformer went out of business this summer, I went to my local store, they used to have an entire row of magazines, now they have just one tiny section with junk and like 3 magazines. so i wen to gamestop to buy the last issues for $4 each, no regrets, that magazine gave me a lot of memories growing up, so its a bit of a memento for me. i just wish i kept all my old ones, oh well. i did hit it off with a girl working there though, so that was fun at least, she was excited for the new Dragon Age, too bad I'm a coward and never ask for girls numbers.

Even though towards the end they turned into Gamestop propaganda they were pretty good in the late 90s and through most the 00s. I think I stopped reading them around 2014/15.

EGM was probably my favorite magazine though, I liked their 4 reviewer approach.

You gotta activate that rizz @Space Lynx   :toast:

I still have a couple of my old EGM's, I was subbed to all of them through middle and high school. Official Playstation Magazine was my favorite, but that was in the glory PS2 days, damn those were good times.
