Just started using Ryzen 7 7700X based Motherboard/Processor and AMD video card in July, anyways the bios update has been in Beta since end of August really, Should i continue waiting for it to go Final, then installing or eventually install it anyways?

If you've been around AGESA for any appreciable length of time, you'll know that to most board vendors, "final" or "release" BIOSes never really carry any connotation of stability or finality compared to beta BIOSes. Often times a BIOS release that corresponds to a specific AGESA will likely just remain beta forever, and the next release is for a new AGESA. If people aren't reporting widespread problems with said BIOS release, and you have a reason to really want it, then go for it.

Haven't seen any Widespread problem reports, been trying to wait for it become final since August 29th lol, newer beta posted on 2024-09-20 with newer AGESA, 1.2.0.2 version. Previous version was 1.2.0.1.

Trying to be patient and wait for Final release, but sorta starting to lose patience lol, though being my first Ryzen Build, also being a bit cautious and wait a little longer maybe, not entirely sure

I haven't been on MSI since AM4, but a quick look suggests that they haven't changed much since then. I guess what they believe to be "minor" AGESA releases often will just remain as beta BIOS forever.

Anyway, don't read too much into the importance of "final" release vs beta. If you really want the BIOS update, then go for it. Personally there haven't really been recent AM4/5 vulnerabilities that stand out to me as being absolutely criticial - at least, none that would clearly surpass more obvious things like rootkit anticheat imo.

Most of the board vendors really don't do anything to beta BIOSes when they become non-beta releases, they just change the name. Betas also don't really go anywhere even if they're problematic, unless there are seriously problems that warrant pulling them entirely. If the AGESA 1201 BIOS has stayed up all this time and people haven't been complaining about it, sounds like it doesn't have such problems.

Oh ok, guess still thinking of my old Intel Builds where i always waited for Final Releases in the past lol

This Machine will make a final decision on in a week or two then in this case. Guess no hurry to make a final decision what to do though

MSI is overall quite underwhelming on AM5 compared to AM4 from my experience with BIOS updates on my B650 Carbon WIFI so far. While they update more often than Gigabyte, the minor releases are often beta-only, as you mentioned.

I'd say it depends on the manufacturer. For MSI, beta versions are usually okay-ish to use as long as you don't install them on release day. For my Gigabyte and Asus AM5 boards, I prefer waiting for release versions, since both have a tendency to forget to enable certain features in beta BIOSes or release buggy versions that get quietly pulled for doing weird things. Can't speak for ASRock yet, my B650 Livemixer is still in the mail. :p

of course final is better, why just "beta" bioses exist, at least with current gen. There could be a point to update to beta bios if this was last bios for 10 y o MB lol
