AMD specified x16 or 2 x8 support for the refresh of the motherboard lineup but instead Gigabyte continued going all in with M.2 splitting the x16 not into another slot but into more m.2.
It's not just Gigabyte.
So far, all big four board manufacturers connect the ASMedia USB4-controller to the general purpose PCIe lanes on most boards, instead to the chipset, as AMD implied in their slide deck covering X870E. It gets even more annoying, because many boards that offer x8/x8 lane-splitting for dual GPUs also split the 2nd mechanical x16 slot further down into x4+x4 either into one mechanical x16 slot running x4 + one M.2, or make the 2nd x16 slot unusable by using the lanes for two additional M.2 slots (e.g, Asus X870E ProArt or Crosshair X870E Hero).

it's kinda rare word these days, This dumb youth generation probably doesn't even know
Funniest thing I've ever heard was someone calling the women's Olympic weightlifting and saying they'd pay money to see the 75kg snatch.

Yes, ridiculously so. WCCFTech has this "review":

ASRock X870E Taichi Motherboard Review – Stronger VRM, Better Features, Great Price

"latest X870E Taichi motherboard which is priced at $449 US"

"Conclusion - Upgraded Taichi At An Attractive High-End Price"

Is it attractive at that price?
So about $800 AUD and a fcuking rip-off.
