Could we have "controller" in system specs? I'm sure that most of us (including myself) has a controller for their PC.

Or maybe the 'Mouse' and 'Keyboard' part of system specs can all be rolled into a more generic 'Peripherals' box where people can add anything they want.

Oh you mean like game pads and stuff? I genuinely thought you meant like RAID stuff. A part of me want to assume the 2007 position of "go back to your consoles" but
Or maybe the 'Mouse' and 'Keyboard' part of system specs can all be rolled into a more generic 'Peripherals' box where people can add anything they want.
this makes sense.

FWIW I don't have one attached at all times. I own one, but I rarely use it.

My brother in Christ, this position was idiotic in 2007 and is so now. PC has always had a plethora of controller choices. We had a goddamn GAMEPORT for them specifically. Joysticks, gamepads, wheels, HOTAS, weird mech game controllers - you name it. So thanks for NOT taking that moronic position that was never true.
Like, here’s an ad from 1996. What a console pleb, right?

That would be nice. I had to list my controller under audio. An "Additional" or "Other Devices" would be nice too.

If PC specs gets much bigger you could write your will faster than it would take to complete them, do people really care about what controller someone uses with a certain game? I rarely even look at anyone's specs in any case but each to their own I suppose :)

I already can. "I didn't plan on dying so please revive me. If you failed to revive me then blow all my stuff up with a nuke."

Jokes aside, just an "additional info" graph would be sufficient.

Way to show some initiative! I applaud being so upfront in asking W1zz to create a position for you as Gaming Peripheral reviewer.

Have you explored trade relations within the Asiatic business sphere for purposes of allowing you full access to product lines without licensed distribution in Western channels?
Let me assure you the peer assessment will be quite stringent before even considering passing on a recommendation to site staff. :p

I honestly only look at system specs if someone is asking for troubleshooting advice. As suggested, the section could be renamed "Input Peripherals" and just become a catch all for keyboard, mouse, or weapon of choice.

I absolutely lmao at the totally not required 'Stud' in presenting John Romero. Like... how the f did that ever sell a joystick to nerds?

You're far too rational about this. The only reason people write this up is because they got a new toy and want to epeen with it. It just feels good to write it down. 'I have this now'. Guilty as charged...

Thank you for calling me rational, I do believe that is a first for me  although my daughters may well debate that point with you ferociously! Some members put their specs in their siggy, I would think for E Peen purposes at least it would be more visible.

Thread is for the discussion of adding a section to the System Specs... not a discussion of controllers, 90s, or other off topic ramblings.
If you wish to discuss such other topics, make a thread in the appropriate section.
Stick to the topic.

I agree with this, if W1zz does something like this, just call it 'Peripherals' so people can put what they want there. Makes more sense imo, gives people flexibility of what they want to share

This would be fine by me as well as long as the textbox is large/not too limiting.

Controllers have no place in the eyes of the PC master race god. Even if you have one, you should never talk about it, or even mention it. :slap:

Jokes aside, it's not a bad idea.

I think keeping it same size as the others would be fine, for example, DS4 Controller + Logi Flight Stick would fit just fine, and you don't need to be listing all your peripherals, just your favorites or something. I don't know. I don't even use the feature anymore, as you can see. I do think this is a neat idea though, so just trying to help brain storm.

My worry is some custom keyboard builds can fill the whole textbox on their own.

Is Human Machine Interface Devices too long-winded?
Maybe but I'd be more concerned people might start listing what model "pleasure devices" they are using with that title. Could get awkward real fast.
