Why is almost no one talking about how NVIDIA seems to be repeating the "4080 12GB that was really a 4070 card" situation with the rumoured 5080 16GB vs. 5080 24GB?
Fact: The 4080 12gb (aka 4070ti) is a card with basically half everything compared to the 4090.
Now 5080 16gb is rumoured to be a card with half everything compared to the 5090 therefore my thought process 5080 16gb is actually the 5070ti
Some of you seem OK with an 80 class card being half the 90. Why?
Is it because it’s still going to be on the gb202?
So what? They just cut it down a lot more than they usually do. Maybe gb202 not passing as 90 cards is higher or something.
Is it because is still going to be on the same level as the 4090?
So what? The 4070ti (aka 4080 12gb) was also the same level as the 3090.
Have you all forgotten? We used to rage over that the 70 tire card wasn't on the same level as the previous flagship?
